Man, I'm feeling like I must be doing something wrong. Just when I was feeling like I'd gotten things straightened out for a hot minute, I get to Blackpits and suddenly I'm taking a third of my health in damage from every hit on my tankiest characters. I am only level 12, admittedly, but I feel like if there's much else to do on-level then I either don't know about it or have lost track of it.
If you're playing on Tactician that's just the way the game is balanced. It's very rocket-taggy. You can beef up your defenses with top of the line gear and magic but generally speaking the best defense is to kill and CC them before they do the same to you.
I think I'm just on Normal, unless Tactician is the non-indicative name for that. It's the "general RPG experience" setting.
Anyway, I don't mind rocket tag, I'm just wondering where my launcher is. I've tried the fight near the family getting executed a few times, and I have trouble getting even the one guy by the gate down in a reasonable amount of turns before his friends show up. It also doesn't help that most enemies can tear through a full armor gauge on any of my characters in one hit, but I tend to manage scratch damage before Perseverance, Mend Metal, and other spells just bring them right back up.
Have you been Stonegarden yet? There's a cliff over looking it where you can teleport them to you instead of fighting them all at once
Ooh, nice idea. I have found some more stuff to do and I'm level 13 now, but I'll probably still try that out.
Okay, well, I'm doing On The Ropes and I'm starting to think maybe I should just let Gwydian die, as he's clearly a danger to himself and others. Idiot ran through 400hp of Necrofire to throw a dagger at a slime with physical armor on and burned to death.
Even on Normal it can tough to keep him alive. I had to buff and heal him a lot.
Yup. Fortunately I had saved not too far back and could rescue him with some quick Teleporting.
Cast Living on the Edge on him, repeatedly,he should stay alive then
High quality Shadow essence + Raw Lumpy Giblets + Paper
We managed it. I ended up getting my third Source point from Ryker, so I think it's all just cleanup at this point. Still gotta wrap up the errands on Bloodmoon Island for Jahan and grab the Anathema blade, then I guess I'll... try the bonus fights hidden around Reaper's Coast?
If memory serves there's also something you need to grab for Prince before you leave the coast, too. I think he and all the other party members warn you if you try to move on with unfinished business for them though, so you should be good, though the thing you need to grab is really out of the way.
Yeah, head to the Lonewolf base and on the otherside of it is a Lizard Caravan with The Red's prince love interest, you'll need to speak to her
You've also got this witch in the woods, flying around on a cross, really tricky never faced her
There's also this thing called a Lamenting abomination in the woods too
The witch is a trap. Do not engage
dead ass you basically have to cheese that to win
Yup, I took care of the flying witch through Jahan cheese. Thanks, broken-ass demon hunter OC man.
Let's see... gotta get the Red Prince to bone town, rescue Saheila and kill the Lone Wolves, maybe fight the abomination... maybe one of the trolls, too? But that sounds scary.
One thing I will say about this game is that I don't really appreciate how many of its encounters start with a whole bunch of extra enemies showing up and then getting to move before you do.
fight the level 18 troll
See, I want to because he's a jerk, but I'm also not dumb enough to fall for the trap that just because he doesn't have any armor, he'll be easy to kill.
If you've got Chicken Claw and Charm Arrows, it's way easier. Don't forget to to exploit the elemental weakness.
I DID I FINALLY DEFEATED THE SOURCE TITIAN WHOOOOOO!
OK,I just beat the source titian for the second time ever,on the hardest setting and Honour Mode
The wonders of the idol of rebirth and Tentacle Attack,Beast and Red Prince took him down, hell yeah
