Bumping with just a random thought...

Y'know, the show as so full of OC villains that it sometimes made a few of the villains who actually were preexisting even stranger - Ding Dong Daddy or Mad Mod, for instance.

It helps that Mad Mod and Ding Dong Daddy were originally attempts to create hip, modern characters, but are now so out-of-date that they can really only work in a campy, retro context.

Still watching this show on Boomerang (which I notice refers to it as Superfriends on the "You Are Now Watching" bumpers, heh). The Brotherhood Of Evil storyline... I loved when this show got dramatic, and the plots were often great, but I always kept me wondering where the hell the other heroes of the world were.

During the Trigon shenanigans I kept asking where the heck Dr. Fate was, and the Brotherhood of Evil plot is even worse given that the Doom Patrol was introduced in the first episode of the storyline, gave permission to be called again if the Brain bothered them again, and are promptly never seen again.

It's an unfortunate side-effect of being a DC show, as DC's heroes or hero teams are notably isolated in comparison to other companies (Marvel being the best example). This show, however, was particularly blatant about it - especially given that the villain of the last arc was another team's (with the exception of BB, of course) archenemy.

Occam's Razor says that during the Trigon Incident, the Justice League was just... not available. Like, they probably got called off to random-ass wild goose chases all over the universe or something to that effects. Trigon has the connections for that.

I always assumed that all the heroes got turned to stone like everybody else during the Trigon business, except for the Titans who were insulated from it by each having been given a bit of Raven's (extremely similar to Trigon's) magic.

I always assumed the show existed in some kind of alternate continuity where there are no other heroes except for the Teen Titans (the main exceptions being Batman and the Doom Patrol).

Checking The Other Wiki, this show isn't considered part of the DCAU, so it's not like there's continuity errors to run into.

But assuming the Watchtower exists, it wouldn't be affected because it's not on the Earth. So if that was the case, the Justice League would have been all up in Trigon's business, unless they were away.

Or the Watchtower is just close enough to Earth it got caught up in the spell, or the League was on Earth on a mission at the time (admittedly, we don't know how big TT-Earth's League is).

Robin would have contacted everyone he could to help prevent the apocalypse. I suppose the honoraries are too far away to get there in time (he had, what, a few hours' warning?), but that leaves the JL either nonexistent or off in the universe somewhere.

Hhm, he was in Metropolis and turned into stone too?

By the way, I call an eventual Darksied versus Trigon. Considering its DC, Its just as likely to have in comics as it would in Fanfiction.

Is it me, or does the series' animation look even more cartoony than the DC Nation shorts?

The art style is definitely different, that's for sure.

Teen Titans gets "replaced" by Young Justice which gets "replaced" by Teen Titans.

I don't like the new animation style; it needs to be closer to the original. Better yet, animate it in the Young Justice style. I also hope the Blackfire thing isn't canon. It implied forced marriage and rape...that makes them no better than her for letting it happen. The least they could have done is give her a ship and not make her go with that freak. I felt sick during the short because I don't want Blackfire to die.

I'm pretty sure they don't really care about Teen Titans' canon at this point.

[up][up][up]I hope this cycle leads into a Chibi Young Justice series where they keep backstabbing each other in a myriad of hilariously stupid ways.

Well this is disappointing. I thought they where going to make a continuation of the Teen Titans rather than a gag series in the vein of the Tiny Titans shorts.

No, it's disappointing because they're scrapping two good shows in place of this horseshit.

[up][up] Complaining About Shows You Don't Watch much? Tiny Titans and these shorts proved Titans and humor work, why decry this before it's here?

That's the animation art? That looks more like Adventure Time to me.

There's nothing wrong with a light spin-off in itself, but I think the time gap is not helping the show fanbase and it's not doing enough to connect to it. Also I want Terra back.

[up][up]I know, I was just hoping that we were getting a full revival rather than the Tiny Titans shorts in a longer format. Could still be good, but I was hoping we see some dangling plot threads get picked up.
