This thread's for talking about the Marvel Comics line, whether the comics are decades old or brand new.
As well as the superhero tales of the Marvel Universe, that also includes all the other things Marvel's done (Epic Comics, Icon Comics, Star Comics and all the rest), as well as the older stories by Atlas and Timely, the companies that later became Marvel.
Acquisitions like Malibu Comics and Miracleman are also on-topic, as are the licensed 20th Century Studios titles, the Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Zoids and Transformers comics, and all of the comics created locally by regional imprints like Marvel UK and Marvel Italia.
- We have dedicated threads for some groups of titles (such as Spider-Man and the X-Men). You can still discuss them here, but you might want to use the more specific threads.
- We also have threads for Indiana Jones
, Star Wars
, Predator
and some of the other franchises. Sometimes it may be more useful to discuss the comics there rather than here — but they're still on-topic and there's no hard rule.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about them here.
Discussions that are only about Marvel adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics (e.g. if comparing Marvel to a DC story). When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).
So apparently,
they're making a Black Panther movie. Let's hope Hudlin is kept as far away as possible. On a related note, anyone think that the whole 'Super Hero that is also a King/Ruler' is kind of ridiculous? I mean where do heroes like Aquaman and T'Challa find the time to both lead a nation and go gallavanting on the other side of the globe?

So that's actually not a bad thing they're doing in other words.

I know Ms. Marvel did, at least when it launched. The letters page was "Holla at Kamala", which I chuckled at many a time.
I see letters pages in a couple things I read. The new Avengers Forever has one, Venom usually has one.
Forever liveblogging the AvengersVenom's design has basically made him look more and more like a Shoggoth.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI just read another issue of Dark Ages:
The group have a burial for Nick Fury. Deadpool shows up, but even he shows respect when he finds out Nick dies.
He then acts as their tour guide, using a British Double Decker Bus to get them to their destination ( he calls it the Dead mobile). When Pepper asks why Deadpool is guiding them, he explains that he's basically gotten his ass kicked everyone on the continent, so he knows what places to avoid.
Meanwhile, Apocalypse takes his mind controlled crew (which includes Tony Stark) to the centre of the Earth where the Unmaker sleeps. Strange's body is still there, and it's pointed out that there may be magical wards on his body.
We see them examine the portal Strange opened, and Tony, Beast and (I think it was) Shuri theorize that there's a Neutron Star on the other side of the portal, hence the constant electromagnetic pulse. Apocalypse needs an hour to take control of the Unmaker, so the mind controlled Science crew has to find a way to contain the power of a Neutron Star for an hour. Tony likes the challenge.
The rescue team has stopped to rest for the night, but Gabby and Laura smell something, and it's staying downwind to avoid being detected. They go out with Blade to find it first, and get jumped. Peter and May (they brought the kids with them) notice their spider senses aren't being triggered.
Oh shit! It's Venom! Oh Shit! It's Carnage....Oh shit, they're merged together. They fight against it, and manage to kick Carnom's ass, with Pepper using her Furnace powered armour to light it up with fire, then Storm bringing down the loudest lightning bolt in existence on its head.
And this reveals the unwilling host of the Carnom symbiote: Miles Morales! The issue ends with Miles revealing he knows what Apocalypse's plan is.
So there you go.
One Strip! One Strip!Heh all that hype for the Venom/Carnage hybrid and he's taken out in only a short issue.
On a related note, the new Venom: Lethal Protector series started taking place sometime before the original LP series. Man Eddie is out of his fucking mind here and the dude is incredibly verbose like holy cow his vocabulary. Poor dude wound up getting his ass kicked by Humbug who blasted him with sonic insect calls.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
