This thread's for talking about the Marvel Comics line, whether the comics are decades old or brand new.
As well as the superhero tales of the Marvel Universe, that also includes all the other things Marvel's done (Epic Comics, Icon Comics, Star Comics and all the rest), as well as the older stories by Atlas and Timely, the companies that later became Marvel.
Acquisitions like Malibu Comics and Miracleman are also on-topic, as are the licensed 20th Century Studios titles, the Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Zoids and Transformers comics, and all of the comics created locally by regional imprints like Marvel UK and Marvel Italia.
- We have dedicated threads for some groups of titles (such as Spider-Man and the X-Men). You can still discuss them here, but you might want to use the more specific threads.
- We also have threads for Indiana Jones
, Star Wars
, Predator
and some of the other franchises. Sometimes it may be more useful to discuss the comics there rather than here — but they're still on-topic and there's no hard rule.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about them here.
Discussions that are only about Marvel adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics (e.g. if comparing Marvel to a DC story). When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).
So apparently,
they're making a Black Panther movie. Let's hope Hudlin is kept as far away as possible. On a related note, anyone think that the whole 'Super Hero that is also a King/Ruler' is kind of ridiculous? I mean where do heroes like Aquaman and T'Challa find the time to both lead a nation and go gallavanting on the other side of the globe?

fantastic four #41 the reckoning war continues. Ben got his ring broken and was split open deeply and reed had to form a cocoon around him with his body to get ben's guts in place. meanwhile all of galatus's heralds are trying to revive him as he is needed to stop the reckoning, the destroyer armor which he used for a time fuses with galatus's corpse and they become the destruction
Carol is in space right now, so she can be excused from not being in crossovers... but so is Ms. Marvel, so she shouldn't be among the Champions.
...unless, of course, it's that shapeshifting girl who is currently hanging out with her, and who fails to understand that stealing her life is not cool. Replacing her among the Champions can be just another thing she did that got Ms. Marvel mad at her.
Ultimate Secret WarsWhen discussing Marvel Voices: Pride today someone pointed out to me that there's a weird lack of trans or non-binary super characters in Marvel.
Sera is the biggest trans character, sure. And there's also Koi Boi but he's never even explicitly said to be trans in his debuting Squirrel Girl run.
And you've got a few fringe cases like Loki, Xavin and The Eternals who seem to be genderfluid as a result of their shape shifting powers (which feels a bit backward?)
Just seemed weird to me because I was able to name lots of queer marvel superheroes.
Though I hear a quartet of trans and non-binary characters have recently debuted in a New Warriors book?
That book never came out because said trans and NB characters got heavy backlash for being insensitive caricatures of those groups.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonThey had Ultimate Spider-Woman, she's not really a trans but an opposite sex clone of a man, but could work just as well if they wanted to explore trans topics (body of a woman, self-identity of a man).
They don't even need to restore the Ultimate universe to use her. Just say that she was transplanted alongside Miles and his friends (she was his friend, it wouldn't be much of a strech) and that she has been keeping a low profile since then, and that's it.
Ultimate Secret WarsJessica Drew 1610 was weirdly underutilized, you'd think she'd want to comfort Aunt May, Gwen and MJ after Peter died or take the mantle of Spider to protect New York after Miles was traumatized by the death of his mom by Venom and is only 14.
But no, she became a government agent and keeps trying to force Miles to become Spider-Man again when clearly he's miserable about it. She still has Peter's memories up to at least the Carnage arc.
I mean sure Miles is the main character but uhhh, Bendis could have written his arc better.
There's a reason why into the Spider-Verse is viewed as the definitive Miles.

So...Devil's Reign?
What happened to the real Tony?
