This thread's for talking about the Marvel Comics line, whether the comics are decades old or brand new.
As well as the superhero tales of the Marvel Universe, that also includes all the other things Marvel's done (Epic Comics, Icon Comics, Star Comics and all the rest), as well as the older stories by Atlas and Timely, the companies that later became Marvel.
Acquisitions like Malibu Comics and Miracleman are also on-topic, as are the licensed 20th Century Studios titles, the Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Zoids and Transformers comics, and all of the comics created locally by regional imprints like Marvel UK and Marvel Italia.
- We have dedicated threads for some groups of titles (such as Spider-Man and the X-Men). You can still discuss them here, but you might want to use the more specific threads.
- We also have threads for Indiana Jones
, Star Wars
, Predator
and some of the other franchises. Sometimes it may be more useful to discuss the comics there rather than here — but they're still on-topic and there's no hard rule.
Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about them here.
Discussions that are only about Marvel adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.
Please follow the spoiler policy rules
- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics (e.g. if comparing Marvel to a DC story). When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).
So apparently,
they're making a Black Panther movie. Let's hope Hudlin is kept as far away as possible. On a related note, anyone think that the whole 'Super Hero that is also a King/Ruler' is kind of ridiculous? I mean where do heroes like Aquaman and T'Challa find the time to both lead a nation and go gallavanting on the other side of the globe?

Jessica will be facing off with a certain Skrull
in this week's Spider-Woman.
Alright the Avengers/X-Men/Eternals confrontation will be called Judgment Day
Written by Kieron Gillen and art by Valerio Schiti
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Gillen/Schiti is one hell of a creative team. This event may actually be a good one.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Knowing that Gillen is on Judgment Day gives me hope that it’ll be good AND that the conflict will have some depth to it.
He’s currently on Eternals, which has been full of grey political manoeuvring, and he’s about to start Immortal X-Men, focusing on the Quiet Council, who are also really shady. So he should both be able to write the characters well and consistently, and they’re already well placed to come to some kind of conflict without the usual Heel Turn one team has to take.
It looks like the Avengers are just caught up in the middle somehow, must be nice for Tony not to be at fault for once
Not that Thanos is much happier with the Eternals, or so was foreshadowed in the Thanos Rises one shot
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI have faith that Gillen’s going to give us an initial feud that turns into something other than a whole series of heroes punching heroes. The presence of Sinister, Druig and Uranos plays into that. But it’s also heavily hinted that the Celestials are back, which is bad news for everyone.
“Judgment Day” sounds very Arishem...
So Fantastic Four: Life Story wrapped up today and yeah it's really bitter-sweet. A major theme of the final issue is reasserting how much of an influence the Fantastic Four as a whole has been on Marvel Superheroes. It's something that has been especially lost the past decade with Avengers taking so much center stage due to the MCU.
Reed is still in a catatonic state due to everything that went down with Galactus. He's cognizant of everything happening around him, but he's not able to move or respond. With the threat of Galactus over, however, Doom decides to use this as his opportunity to launch an invasion on the rest of the world. Heroes new and old join forces to repel Doom and when he gets defeated and opts to go scorched earth if he can't rule the world. Mad Tinkerer, who was a collaborator with Doom, jumps ship and works with Franklin to try and get Reed responsive since he is aware of the shutdown code to stop the doombots. Reed gets responsive just enough to activate an old robotic head that had all of his old memories. With the threat over, the final scene sees Sue and Reed moving into a retirement home together. Reed is unfortunately still catatonic but his robot shares the last recordings he made for his family.

@deadpoolrocks: So this guy
is a Prosilican? Huh... his armor actually matches their physical characteristics pretty well, with the odd shape of their heads.
Peter David will be writing a miniseries with the New F4 line up
.

This seems like a conversation for the MCU thread.
