Ultimate Mjolnir didn't have a worthiness requirement but it got really picky after it entered the 616 and sometimes killed people who tried to lift it.

Ultimate Magneto stole Mjolnir and kept it for a time. And I doubt we can count him as "worthy".
...then again, the definition of "worthy" is a bit fluid, and if you saw Vikings (if not an actual history book) you should be aware that Vikings were not exactly superheroes, so who knows?

Ultimate Mjolnir did not have any sort of “if he be worthy” rune on it. Considering Magneto stealing it led to Ultimatum, it really should have.
Oh, bother.
There is the caveat that Magneto didn't actually touch Mjolnir. He just used magnetism.

Currently, it's sentient and due to god knows what pretty much anyone can lift it and use its power. Thor really got to look into getting another weapon.
Wake me up at your own risk.
Very few weapons have such a rule, anyway. As long as it returns to him after being thrown, Thor should be fine.

Granted, the last time Thor was unworthy of Mjolnir it was because Thor himself believed he and other gods were unworthy.
If something similar is happening now, the fact that Mjolnir is now letting everyone but Thor easily lift it and wield its power says something.

Well the current Mjolnir has only been around for a little while in the comics, a few years out of universe since it was re-made.
And Thor can still use it I think, it's just that other people can too.

He just built a brand new Mjolnir yet it’s still having problems. Like the fuck he’s not worthy because he doesn’t consider himself worthy so it’s a self-esteem thing now? That hammer is fucking useless & bizarrely enough biased.
Also yeah Ultimate Magneto never physically wielded the hammer, he just used his magnetism to make it float.

That is the point of contention, the fact he’s still struggling at all after everything.
People are just tired of any Mjolnir drama and especially all that’s happened to the guy, they just want it to work properly for him.
Like it works perfectly for Jane, no reason why it shouldn’t work perfectly for Thor.

Honestly at this point I want Thor to build a brand new hammer than can only be wielded by him.
It has an enchantment that says I don't know "This Hammer Can Only Be Wielded By Thor Odinson, Allfather And Son of Odin Borson"
And he just nonchalantly chucks Mjolnir to either Jane or Bill because its worthless to him now.
