I mean, I stopped reading six years ago, but I think this has helped validate my decision here.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundWhy discuss something you’ve long since lost interest in?
It’s weird.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Just because I'm not interested in what they've been publishing lately doesn't mean I don't want to know what's happening with one of my favourite franchises of all time. I still love the Claremont run and some of the satellite books with a passion.
Doctor Who — Long Way Around: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13536044/1/Doctor-Who-Long-Way-AroundHave Marvel actually tried at some point to really erradicate all mutants? And by "all" I mean ALL, not just "most of the background ones, but the selected elite remains alive and with full powers". And then it will be up to their non-mutant friends and allies to jump in their defense in absentia, and make up some plan to bring them back. That would be a big step forward in human-mutant integration, wouldn't it?
Ultimate Secret WarsI find it pretty funny that one of the House of M 'wish reality' things was Carol Danvers being Captain Marvel instead of Ms. Marvel, which ended up happening for real later on.
The Protomen enhanced my life.House of M was kind of the start for modern Carol
Living a fantasy life where she was the best hero made her think she was wasting her life relative to her powers and set off to... get a publicist and try to get people to care more about her
And then she beat the crap out of Rogue
And her desire to be a better slash more popular hero led her to jump onto Tony’s side of Civil War and make several bad decisions, as ya do

Forever liveblogging the AvengersWell, Carol was a military. If the sides are "obey the law" vs. "defy the law", it was completely in-character for her to choose the first one. At least until later things made things more personal.
Ultimate Secret WarsNot gonna lie...Rahne Sinclair is possibly my favorite X-men character. I absolutely loved reading about her in New Mutants by Claremont, and I found her character arc, where she has to balance her religious worldview with her mutant side, her evolving relationships with her friends and loved ones, her struggles all the way to X-Factor, X-Force and even Yost's New Mutants. She's always been one of the most sympathetic and fully realized characters for me with her laundry list of flaws, struggles and attempts to do the right thing in spite of it. I even have a picture of her and the original New Mutants signed by Claremont.
And they kill her off in one of the single worst comics deaths I have ever read in some kind of offensive attempts at a point that tries to be profound but ends up as idiotic when you wonder why four completely normal people are able to beat a trained fighter like Rahne who, remind you, has fought off trained soldiers in large amounts to death while she does nothing to defend herself.
And to top it off? This was written by someone I share a surname with for fuck's sake.
Marvel once again shows how clueless they are at touching these topics.
Wake me up at your own risk.I misread 'surname' as 'username' and thought the writer was named Lightysnake.
The Protomen enhanced my life. But muh gritty realistic subject matters in books about people shooting laser beams.
Mileena MadnessI suggest you to check "Cosmic Ghost Rider Destroys Marvel History" #3. It has several classic moments of the X-Men (such as the Phoenix Saga and Days of Future Past), with Cosmic Ghost Rider inserting himself in the middle of it all. You'll surely find it fun to read.
Ultimate Secret WarsCosmic Ghost Rider Destroys Marvel History also contains the most amount of characterization that Frank's family has ever gotten in the comics.
Is Cosmic Ghost Rider the new Deadpool?
Forever liveblogging the AvengersWell, Deadpool himself also shows up in that story, complaining that Frank is stealing his gimmick.
Ultimate Secret WarsRahne doesn't even try to escape. I get that she doesn't want to hurt them, but why can't she just turn into a big werewolf, swat them aside and run? She just lies there waiting to die.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Because what's the point of Rahne's inclusion if she doesn't suffer like a good victim?
That is what kills me. Is the writer trying to say that she wanted to die like Blindfold? If so, the method in which it was done ruins all of this because of the assholes who did this. It was not a group of mutant-hunting guys just asshole punks who make me hate the citizens living in these comics more and more.

Mileena MadnessI'm saying that Rahne, as a character, doesn't actually matter to the proceedings. The writer just wanted a big ol' sad death that tastelessly evokes the murders of actual LGBT people in his comic about dorks in tights, and Rahne isn't Cyclops or Wolverine so you're allowed to do whatever you want with her.
This is your regular reminder that Marvel Civilians™ enjoy watching teenagers die.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Avengers Arena was so fucking stupid.
Mettele's still dead & Hazmat's still dating that axe guy.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."If I were a Marvel superhero I think I'd have long since gone full Justice Lord. It's what these ungrateful, hypocritical, homicidal pieces of pond scum deserve.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."
Who will he kill next and what kind of dark symbolism will it represent! The suspense is making me want to never read a X Men comic again!
