WCA is off to an amazing start. My favourite panels so far are all of them. Every single panel is my favourite.

BRODOK. Bio-Robotic Organism Designed Overwhelmingly for Kissing. It's MODOK with flowing hair, sick abs, and leather pants. And it is perfect.

Moses Magnum is the only ones besides Arcade that I can think of who was introduced fighting Spider-Man, only to become more synonymous with someone else (I don't really count Jigsaw; he was introduced in ASM, but it's clear that he was being set up as a Punisher villain from the start). Every other instance just seems like "shared custody" (Kingpin for Daredevil, Rhino for Hulk, etc.) or somebody popping up somewhere else for a period of time, like Screwball in the last Elektra series or Shocker in the current arc of Ms. Marvel.

Re: Last page/Avengers apathy...no it's not just you. Yes, Bendis is a base breaker with serious fans but through all the complaints...his run is what pretty much defined the team in the 2000s-2010s and re-vitalized the franchise. Hickman's Avengers was ambitious but boring and let's just not talk about Waid's run.

x2 And sometimes its vice versa where Spidey take on the likes of Batroc the Leaper (Captain American), Boomerang (Hulk), Beetle (Fantastic Four . . . specifically Human Torch), Thanos (. . . wait who is he a villain specifically to again? I mean he debuted as an Ironman villain, but he frequently clash with Captain Marvek until he became a regular Avengers villain).

Caught up on the 2016 Avengers run on comixology because nobody wanted to discuss the new run.

No Surrender is pretty okay eleven issues in.

Although there’s a kind of melancholy feel to knowing that this big fusion of all the Avengers teams in one book is just in service of disbanding all of them for a new roster and getting back to basics

That's legitimately terrifying. On so many levels. Yikes.

Huh that does not bode well.

So my journey into bingery has taken me through US Avengers (delightful, especially the last two issues), Champions (okay with some good character dynamics), Ultimates squared (very delightful, especially how it mostly ignores Secret Empire but also ties into it with the Eternity War suggesting that the Hydra takeover is just a symptom of a greater pattern of things just being really out of whack and also the Ultimates punk the Ultimates fun fun), and also Ultimate Comics Ultimates which delivered on the real world grounded consequences of Ultimates but also people were largely not horrible jackasses although Steve is a shitty president.

The West Coast Ultimates plotline just fizzles for a ‘wuh oh Galactus again!’ story which is a shame because a good three out of five of those characters were interesting and now I’ll never know what became of the California secession conspiracy. The Ultimate Infinity Stones were kind of a wet plop of a plot point too.

I’ve done a lot of binging this week. I think I’ll catch up on Renew Your Vows nows

Yeah, but in Jessica Jones, she's Green She-Hulk and, again, talking like The Hulk in, say, Marvel Adventures.

Any weird Hulk related happening is either because of feelings or radiation

Jason Aaron, over in Avengers, has her in Hulk Smash form, despite Tamaki's She-Hulk run ending with Jen being a smart Hulk again. So Thompson's just going with how Aaron's handling the character.

Over in Immortal Hulk a bunch of gamma people are getting their powers acting up because of the one below all, so you could say thats the reason
