Hi, I'm having trouble getting a modern computer (Intel i5 4690, GTX 970. Windows 7) to run a semi-old game (Mass Effect 2). When I try to start it, I get an error message saying "Failed to initialize the physics system. Please ensure you have an updated version of the Phys X System Software installed.". Some of the things I read online suggested downloading Nvidia's legacy Phys X software and repairing Phys X through the Uninstall a Program option on the Control Panel. I did the former to no effect, and whenever I try the latter, I get an error message saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package "Phys X.msi" in the box below" (the source it's currently trying to use is C:\Users\(my name)\App Data\Local\Temp\is-NMI 50.tmp\, if that matters). Does anyone know where I can find Phys X.msi, or if there's something else I should be doing?
♭What. This problem dates back to Windows 7, I got it once in a while but you don't need to restart the explorer, just hitting ctrl alt delete and then leave the security screen.

Is there any reason F8 for safe mode could fail in Windows 8.1?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Okay.... when (and why) did Chrome decide to remove backspace as a shortcut key for "back" and replace it with Alt-left arrow? I vaguely remember that the latter has been in existence for some time, but I'm used to backspace.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"A week or two by now, I think. I assumed it was a bug of some sort.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Do you think it might be a Windows hotkey issue then, as opposed to a Chrome one? This computer is still running Windows 7 (it's a work device so I don't get to have a say in the OS) and it's got the issue, so I can't imagine that the Win10 AE is the culprit.
Edit: It is Chrome. According to this topic
, Backspace was removed as a shortcut key because users would press it and lose their form data when the browser executed the Back function unintentionally (for example, if focus was not in an input field).

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"At least it tells you why it's not working when you start mashing backspace.
"Yup. That tasted purple."What's interesting is that I only noticed it on my work laptop because it has a basic 3-button mouse. At home, I have a 5-button mouse and MOUSE4 is mapped to Back, so I never use Backspace at home.

A mouse with five buttons?! When did they invent those???
... Wait, are the two buttons tiny and situated next to a wheel thingie? If so, I think I recognize the design, even if it's been many years since I've actually used one.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Left-right buttons, center button/scroll wheel, and two side buttons. Mine is a Razer Diamondback (original version; it's lasted forever), but there are certainly plenty of others.

Its a popular thing on the internet, that makes windows look like windows used too.
