You can tell what weapon they wield based on the ones they have in the group shot.
Viewtiful dude is the only one with armored gloves, not-Sephiroth has a sword, and green guy has a blaster.
Umbran Climax◊Captain Sephiroth* also calls for a Unite Sword in a quick-time event (that is thankfully just based off normal in-game commands) in one part. He uses it to pole-vault over some wreckage.
He also just has a regular sword at all other times.

I love how the heroes aren't all recruited civilians, but also military guys and other random heroes. I want to make a name for all of them. I already have Captain Sephiroth and Candy Man.
