Is it just me, or does it seem like Red Velvet steals the show a LOT?
Maybe it's just me?
Oh, and I'm still miffed that AJ had to pay the price for trash-talking and RD didn't
I DID like how RD WASN'T the one to pull off a Big Damn Heroes in this chapter thogh. (at least not directly)

"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelI guess that Havocwing really hates being caled a chicken that much.
As for Red Velvet, maybe a little, but as you said, she was starting to seem incompetant.
And Curie was really good this chapter as well. And Insipid had that really excellent scene where she turned into a dragon.
Starlight of course also does a lot of scene stealing.
And I think tat this chapter also demonstrated that we've been underestimating Grayscale as well.
EDIT:
I honestly think that the layering was a bit too much as it made things a bit difficult to read. The colours and shading was good though. May suggest instead fluctuating fonts?

I actually thought the corruption during the segment where Dashie saves Pinkie should've formed a shape of some kind (Like Red winking at the reader or something)
I'm not a fan of 4th wall shenanagains anyway. They get on my nerves.
But most people seem to like it, so whatever -_-
I never underestimated Grayscale. I always knew she was smart.
I just hate how useless AJ was

"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelI liked it less for the Fourth Wall effect and more for the fact that it made me imagine her with an incredibly evil, deep, crackly, voice of legion type voice. I got the impression that she sounded not like a pony but a force of pure evil.
EDIT:
I still see Aj as the most consistantly effective of the Mane 6. S He did fairly well for being matched up to somepony assigned to her based on advantages and I still think that she was the most effective in the second fight. I know that you think that it's RD, but I really disagree as RD spends most of her fights on the deffensive.

@sereg I thought Red Velvet was plenty competent during her fight with Flathoof and Tick Tock. (it was probably my favourite part tbh) Velvet was threatening AND funny
for some reason I burst out laughing at the line “You’ve got spunk! You’ve got life! I’m going to enjoy breaking you in half!”
But then it just went too far and I stopped enjoying the chapter
Remember that we're dealing with Rock Paper Scissors powers here. RD has an advantage over Havocwing whereas Havocwing has an advantage over AJ.
Also, it seems that Red Velvet is more effective against groups. More fear to eat.
And yeah, I didn't see RD as having defeated Havocwing at all.
Have to agree that AJ has been the best fighter on her side the entire time.
Also, man did the Foe Yay go up this chapter! Red Velvet shipping Tick Tock with Shadowstep, her banter with both her and Flathoof, kissing Flathoof into submission!
Insipid would have a hard time against AJ when you think about it, course it depends on the situation since Insipid could turn the tables around as well. Curaçao is up in the air in my opinion. She might have an advantage over AJ since she's much more of a tactical fighter and would actively use any and all advantages she could think of.
That's what I mean. AJ has an advantage over NO ONE. She has beaten NO ONE.
sorry, I really hate this niggling feeling that any of the mean 6 could beat her.
It wouldn't bug me so much if she wasn't supposed to be a REALLY strong fighter.
I hope she gets to straight up DEFEAT someone (someone powerful) like RD did at some point
And it seems like Flathoof's only purpose is to Tank and draw agro

"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelI'm half expecting somebody to bust out the FOP line around her:
"she'll eat you, then kill you!"
or the House line:
"If you're going to rape me and kill me, please do it in that order"
In a straight up fight AJ is at a disadvantage yes (my opinion not Ganon's) however if she she plays her cards well she can easily turn it around. Unless she's sent flying into the air. If anything Fluttershy is the one with the noticeable weakness, if the bracelet were to be destroyed she'd lose connection to her powers. With Pinkie it's just pointing out that it's impossible (which Curaçao now knows).
Rarity has yet to beat anyone either, Curaçao ran loops around her and she's the mean six's 'non-combatant' really.
AJ needs to learn Toph's method of seeing with her feet/hooves
So she could tell when ponies are sneaking up on them. (and sensing underground caverns)
I still want her to beat Havocwing
or ANYONE
Rarity is explicity a buffer/support team member. AJ is a frontline fighter. She deserves to be able to best SOMEBODY
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs SchneizelIt's a point in everypony's favour, so she ain't special
What was she doing against Havoc anyway? I knew she was kicking rocks at her. Then started pulling them back towards her after she dodged them. but she mentioned by the end that she didn't even need to kick the rocks anymore
"Contests fought between two masters are decided instantly. An invisible battle is now raging between the two of them." Lulu vs Schneizel

There were complaints that talk of this fic was cluttering up the MLP thread. So I'm taking it upon myself to move it here.
Just read chapter 24.
... I don't know, I started to find Velvet REALLY annoying in this chapter after a while.
