There was one shot when a tarp was pulled off a portrait of a llama with Pacifica standing directly in front of it.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THAT EPISODE WAS SO GREAT HOPY SHIT
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
i think i mostly want to see what happens when this whole place breaks apartIt's amazing that a children's show can get BLEEDING WALLS past the censors but can't reference LGBT people existing. Stupid S&P.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.We do have a very odd blind spot on these things, yes.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectIs it weird that I really want Mom and Pop Northwest to be killed in the upcoming apocalypse?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.So if the GF wiki is correct than the timer on the laptop meant 21 days or the apocolypse will be delayed next episode. The episode after "Not What He Seems" is "Return of the Gleeful" and I can't see Gideon's return being smooshed into the same episode as The End of the World as We Know It.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I agree what was said about Pacifica and the bell...even moreso than the horrific horror elements, that was the most disturbing thing, especially at the end when she was trying to open the gates. Pacifica's parents literally used a form of psychological abuse on her in order to control her, and they've been doing it for years if it has that much of an impact on her even when she's trying to save the day.
Fuck. Them.
Seriously, I can never watch Pacifica's antagonistic episodes the same way again, not when I know that the reason she's being so mean is because if she doesn't, she'll hear the ringing of that damn bell in her head.

Which means it's August 10th in universe if the books foreshadowing is to be believed.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. The end of the Summer is usually considered labor day, if we're talking about the end of summer break. On a calender level however we don't consider Summer over till the autumn equinox.
Of course the former point might vary from state to state.

The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.My god, that episode was intense (in a good way, of course).
The story was great. I loved the Character Development that Pacifica had, and the fact that she stood up to her father was awesome. It had a lot of funny moments, too (I especially loved the Take That! towards the History Channel near the beginning). And of course, the ending is as good as a cliffhanger can get.
My only real complaint was the fact that Mabel's sub-plot went absolutely nowhere. However, like Shiny said
, the fact that Mabel and Candy were genuinely happy for Grenda, instead of having a "What does he see in her that I don't have" reaction, made it worth it.
Ok, like, this is legit one of my favorite episodes of this show now. And considering how highly I already view this show, that's saying A LOT.
Putting aside all the Pacifica character development and Dipper interaction (both of which were AWESOME) I don't think I've laughed this hard at an episode, and I definitely haven't been legitimately scared of one til now.

The way she responded to that bell so easily was kind of unpleasant to watch. What kind of parents do that?
About the B plot: Unsurprisingly predictable and straightforward. However, I really appreciated how Mabel and Candy were genuinely glad for Grenda when the Austrian guy showed interest in her. That little moment kind of made the subplot worth it for me.
