I'd just like to post saying I absolutely love this series; coming from someone who never really got into any of the other cartoon shows that a lot of people are obsessed with.
As for my favourite episodes...
- The Inconviencing
- Tourist Trapped
- The Hand That Rocks Mabel
- The Gromplewhomper or whatever it is called
- Headhunters
... - Dipper vs. Manliness
Aside from the last one, they are all really, really close together.
"Evii is right though" -Saturn "I didn't know you were a bitch Evii." -Lior ValIt's really hard to choose my favourite episodes in order, but I'll try:
1. The Hand That Rocks the Mabel (dat ending)
2. The Inconviencing (showed that the series has potential to be pretty creepy, and trippy Mabel)
3. Headhunters
4. Tourist Trapped
5. Legend of the Gobblewonker
6. Dipper vs. Manliness (it had its moments, but overall it was underwhelming and felt like filler)
Also Dipper & Mabel are quickly becoming my favourite pair of fictional twins. They are TOO CUTE.

One thing I like is that despite Dipper usually being more nervous and level headed and Mabel usually being more optimistic and odd they don't come across as the stereotypically opposite twins. I think one of the best examples of this the start of episode two, Dipper is no less willing to participate in the syrup race than Mabel.
Another thing I like is that while Mable is definitely strange, and more trusting, she doesn't come off as stupid or overly naive.
I really wonder about that. I mean, my thought was also that Mabel and possibly other characters like Soos don't actually come across as stupid comic relief, even though they are stupid comic relief characters, but... ... they are stupid comic relief characters.
There's got to be some magical balance they found to make characters act stupid without actually appearing stupid. And I want to understand it!
The trick as I understand it is to give hints of depth. Soos was with those kids because he was the adult and needed to protect them while they had fun. While Dipper and Mabel were getting excited about finding the lake monster, Soos gets a serious look on his face, grabs a sharp stick, and follows close behind them. When the monster attacks, he grabs the kids and runs. He's silly and a little immature but he's definitely got his priorities straight.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.I've said it before, but what makes Dipper and Mabel stand out as twins is that they actually care about each other. Instead of being at each other's throats, belittling the other or ignoring them, they actually have similar interests, have the same sense of humor, and are there for each other. Dipper was more than willing to solve the Gideon situation for Mabel, and Mabel stressed about the consequences of letting Dipper dump Gideon for her.
And the rest of the cast are awesome, too, for having this thin outer layer of your stereotypes (overly mature boy, crazy optimistic arts-and-crafts girl, greedy dirty uncle, fat nerdy menial worker, sarcastic lazy teenager), but also having hidden depths. Wendy, Soos, and Stan especially, what with being more in the background than the mystery twins.
I'm pretty sure the concept of Law having limits was a translation error. -WanderlustwarriorCaught up on the whole series after a couple Tropers recommended it to me. I love it! It has enough surreal and first-degree humor for my tastes, up there with Futurama in my opinion. A clever, clever animation show.
I would have believed they were more heavy on the conspiracy stuff, seeing all the buzz around it, but they're obviously building up to something, so... I'll wait.
Also, the Manitaurs crack me up at every scene. So there!
Add me to the growing batch of fans.
Mabel's hilarious.

Don't Press Your Luck too many times in life. You'll just get whammied.I just noticed this today, but did anyone notice a certain someone in the woods when Mabel is poking Dipper in episode 2?
If no, good, that picture I saw was a photoshop.

Don't Press Your Luck too many times in life. You'll just get whammied. While on what is basically a three week road trip, I had all six episodes to watch. To kee from getting tired of them (which wouldn't really happen anyway), I've been coming with crackpot theories to find evidence for. Like "all the main and secondary characters with five fingers are evil/connected to evil". Which has holes, but is fun to think about.
Also, anyone notice that in "Headhunters", when Soos is leading them down the hallway, Mabel is holding on to Dipper's shoulder/vest? It's adorable.
My favorite episodes would be...
- Hand That Rocks The Mabel
- Legend of the Gobblewonker
- Headhunters
- The Inconveniencing
- Tourist Trapped
- Dipper vs. Manliness

Do you mean this
