Up to three and you can find the original text for those three badges here. Note: the shop is not final and will be wiped before going on-line.

Also, any additional questions/comments should be taken to the other thread. (I didn't/don't mind providing brief answers here, but...)

Tropers seem to freak out whenever someone fucks with y'alls posts.

For example; the notorious Christmas Lights Freakout of '11.

It wasn't just the Christmas lights. A few days before there was:

Ah, I used to love it when I was doing skin changes and adding shit on my forums and I would mess up something and my users would go OH WTF IS GOING ON.

This, which resulted in how our posts look now. It was AWESOME!

[up][up]Last Christmas, Eddie put Christmas lights between everyone's posts. People did not appreciate it, especially because there were a number of glitches before it got worked out/settled down.

I only got to see the version were everything was christmas lights.

I just thought "Well, that looks kinda tacky..." and had a medium Web 1.0 flashback.

Oh yeah... forgot about that glitch. That was... "fun."

Well, reading all the reactions actually was fun. Except the "I am boycotting TV Tropes today" ones.

It saddens me that I can't have a pentacle. I would buy the shit out of a pentacle. And then buy one for every other pagan on the site.

...I see no reason why we can't have a pentacle. It is used in all sorts of fictional settings for a number of reasons (usually magic). I kept the Yin-Yang sign because it does not just represent Taoism (I believe that is the right religion...).

If you don't know what I am talking about, look through the rest of the OP in the main thread.

Though I would be careful of any flavor text you put in it.

That's the problem. It is a religious symbol, and would be expressed as a religious symbol.

I, personally, see nothing wrong with having religious symbols, besides the site's general air of "religion is stupid" that you see every three threads in OTC.

The problem with religious symbols is the same problem we have with political and sexuality symbols: They are such Hot Button topics to tropers/the internet in general. I would not mind if people were able to display their religious/political affiliation as a badge, but when you start thinking about the reactions/stereotyping that could occur on the forums, I can understand why we don't want strictly-religious/political/sexuality symbols.

Because we can change the flavor text, you will be able to change basically any badge into a controversial message so I see no point in keeping things not always associated with religion out of the badges.

Hmm... should probably mention the fact that we have not discussed mod tools or general rules for badge editing over in that topic. Turns out to be a good thing I've been looking around the forum for people's reactions.

People react in stupid ways to everything. My thing is, I wear a pentacle openly in Real Life, why shouldn't I do the same here?

Also: the Yin-yang is a concept found in Chinese culture as well, and Taoist the religion and Taoist the philosophy there's a difference.

There's something I noticed about our posts lately.

You see the next line? By the title?

Isn't the indentation different?

Compare this line's indentation.

Whoops. Switch the previous two.
