Since I've namespaced 80+% of Chrono Trigger's 1200+ wicks, I pay a lot of attention to them.
I've moved stuff to the right namespace before. Mainly because it's not that hard to do compared to, say, wick-sorting. I also don't think it's right to make more work for other people by putting a work in the wrong spot. Sure, moving it is a process that takes less than a minute, but still. And that and picture-adding are pretty much the full extent of my wiki activities.
"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."There's a funny thing that's occurred to me...I've looked at the Namespace Index for Video Games. It's a large list, but I know for a fact that it could be easily larger than that!
In fact, there are number of VG's that aren't in the VG Index, because they're in the Main Index. Obviously, they'll have to moved.
I know that sounds huge, but consider this: I don't know how many members TV Tropes has, but I'm going to guess 100. If each of these 100 members moved 1 VG into the right index, the index would have 100 entries added to it by the end of the day. If each of these 100 members moved 10 V Gs into the right index, the index would have 1000 entries added to it by the end of the day!
Something to think about.
Actually, it's more than that. The active forum posters however, are less.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThe number of active tropers (forums and wiki combined) are not in the 13-14 K. The numbers are bigger.
The number of active forum posters, however, is below 10,000.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI'm hesitant, since this is an Eddie-specific thing.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerAll right, so I underestimated the number.
But, by God, can you imagine what would happen if every single member added a number of entries to the indices, or looked at entries listed in Needs Wiki Magic Love and edited them? I guarantee you that lots of pages would be changed overnight!

Keeper of The Celestial Flame

Namespaces are something that I didn't pay much attention to...until recently.
I set up this one page for Microsoft Studios, and listed a number of games that belong to MS. Then I started setting up pages for the games that didn't already have them. Then, I find out from a fellow troper that pages for Video Games should be put in the video game namespace. Yes, those pages I set up were in the main namespace. It took time, but now I've got the stuff mostly put into the VG namespace.
I consider namespaces to be a necessary evil. But it does serve a purpose: it allows for different fictional works with the same name to be put into separate pages. For instance, I know for a fact that Sneakers can refer to a Live Action Film or a Video Game. Captain Obvious, there are differences between those two.
Now I've decided that the next time I set up a page, I'll make sure to put it in the right namespace!
How about you?
