Hm... not sure what you're thrusting at, but here's my response anyway:
- If you're talking about terminology, then I was using it as a general bit of nonclamenture (after all, aren't most mech users called "pilots"?)
- If you're saying that they wouldn't be necessary... hm, maybe. I've thought of something in a similar vein, though I'm not sure how plausible it is (basically the handwave for NA having access to mecha when in the original canon they lacked them is that they're testing out new military tech): perhaps the mechs are so top secret that testing can't be trusted to the normal testing corps, and since Hidden Phantom's in charge of the secretive and shadowy arm of the NA military they decided he should pilot it).
Alternatively, he just rolls with it because Master X said it, and you can't argue with Master X. That option seems a little flimsy, though.
Locking you up on radar since '09Amusingly enough, that's at least partially why the normally isolationist (when it suits them) NA is so eager to leap on the President's request - they want to garner national prestige and political muscle (and hopefully the energy supplies that would come with it).
Locking you up on radar since '09Well, Kanji Tatsumi is now officially a part of this crossover. Having tried to take the above conversation into consideration while I typed, I hope that I was able to properly summarize the character while still entertaining the reader. Balance is always a difficult thing to attain, especially with an audience as vast and varied as my fellow RPers.

Just because one person does something one way doesn't mean you have to do it that way.
