Caught off gaurd by the explosion Pedro is knocked into the air several feet and flipper over. He lands with a thud.

"Gaaahhh!"

He tries to get back on his feet but the shellshock is too much and he's forced to drop to his knees. But where had the explosion come from? Was it some kind of undergtround explosive? No the Plutocracy doesn't have tech like that and they certainly wouldn't put it in the middle of a city of they did, someone had thrown a bomb. Pedro casts his groggy sight about looking for the assailant.

B-b-bloodbender?

Wen immediately got into his earthbending stance. However, it took him a few minutes to realise that he was on a ship, with no earth nearby. He immediately freaked out, trying to find something to defend himself with. He picked something up, closed his eyes, and began to swing it around in front of him:

"Did I get the bloodbender? Did I?"

He then slowly opened his eyes and realised he was holding a wooden stick. He looked at the stick, then at Roger, then at the bloodbender:

"I'm suddenly regretting the decision to come on board this ship."

Her target escaped... Caught off guard, the billhook struck her straight in the chest, embedding itself almost three inches into her sternum. Morana made a heaving motion, and hacked up a wad of blood and mucus. It looked like a winning blow may finally have been struck against the Plutocracy's latest monster.

But then something very, very bad became apparent. Looking at her, it was easy to tell that, despite her skill, she'd been hacked and stabbed at all day. Some of the wounds were even so perfectly placed as to seem intentional, like she'd sttod there and took it. Arms, legs, shoulders, everything that wasn't vital was covered in surgically clean cuts and entry wounds.

And then it hit them. Bloodbenders don't need to worry about blood loss. The little ball of hacked up blood suddenly turned into a stuck pincushion, needles exploding out of it. Taking advantage of their momentary retreat, Morana pulled the billhook from her chest, and chucked it haphazardly at the pirate before refocusing on Miguel.

"Ah... M-My King! You live!"

Leanne sheathed her rapier and dagger and lay down her staff in front of her as she knelt in front of Edward, her head respectfully cast downward "It's an honor... to learn that you are alive, your Majesty"

With that she grabbed her staff and then rose by taking the King's hand "The Avatar, My King?" she said, confused at the prospect of meeting such a legend.

Gunter didn't show it thanks to his Bascinet's visor, but he was genuinely shocked to see that his normally fatal thrust attack was shrugged off just like that by the bloodbender, swiftly running after the billhook and picking it up; the knight grabbed Miguel again and ran towards the ship once more.

"Sir, Forget honor! You are more important to the Empire alive!"

Roger swatted the billhook aside with the flat of his cutlass and leapt over the wale of the ship landing next to gunter "I'd *hic* shuggest a tactical retreat, preferably aboard the shhip."

He eyed the bloodbender warily, having seen the unusual talents and noted their destructive potential.

He gestured toward Gunter "I'm to *hic* take you to *hic* Germanica; If your commander wishes to shtay, he'll have died a hero holding the line. Appropriate for a sholdier of your empire, correct?"

Wolfe's frown got a little worse as he saw what kind of bersekers he was up against. He had been hoping for more of the common ones; nobodies with hardly a skull to their drug-addled name... Standard foot-soldiers were easy, and common berserkers were easy too, though they put up more of a fight than the common troops. Even Boyars were easily doable, under certain circumstances. But veteran berserkers? And a trio at that? His heart sank a little bit as they sized him up. Now he was almost certain that he would be delayed, and was starting to regret not putting more effort into dexterity and speed. In a contest of strength and endurance, the berserkers had the advantage.

The especially drug-addled one charged first, raising his axe for a horizontal slash in the typical berserker fashion. Wolfe was pretty sure he wouldn't be able with withstand such a blow, but was was also sure that blocking it was not an option, and neither was dodging it. So, he improvised; waiting for the man to close to a reasonable distance and then launching a fireball right into his face. The wild, bloodthirsty look in the berserkers eyes vanished in favour of darkness, as the fire singed his eyes and blinded him. The berserker screamed with rage and swung early, slamming his axe into the ground and cracking the stone beneath them. Wolfe leaped back and seized the opportunity he had been hoping for, slashing the man's throat with his short sword.

One down, He thought, the thrill of battle rising within him once again. Two to go!

A group of about seven plutocracy soldiers trudged through the crumbling city, having fought hard for many hours. The five Theigns were exhausted and loosing morale, but the two berserkers kept them moving. It was terribly hard to tire and demoralize a berserker, after all. As they rounded the corner of an old and damaged building, they came across a Imperial troops that were attempting to regroup. There were four Conquistadors, three Dragoons, two Musketeers and one important-looking officer.

The lead berserker grinned as they group appeared to have been caught off-guard. He charged, his war-axe held high as he screamed like a menacing lunatic. As the other berserker joined him, he could see the shock and horror of the Fire Empire troops as they scrambled for their weapons, but the officer seemed unphased... He wasn't sure what happened next, exactly. The officer took up a Firebending stance, but then made a wide circle with her left arm. She drew back, then thrust her two fingers forward. There was a bright blue flash, the berserker felt himself fly backwards, and quickly found himself disoriented and stunned in an unfamiliar place.

What had happened can be summed up in just a few words: Alisa Maly, a Major General of the Imperial Armed Forces, had happened. Lightning bending was still a rare enough skill that only a select few were even sure it was more than a myth, and even fewer were aware of what it could do in the hands of a master. Just a quick bolt had slammed into the lead berserker, and even as it knocked him back, it curved around him and hit the other berserker, and continued on to the Theigns, knocking them all through the wall behind them and into the old building. Most of the Theigns were dead or dying, but the berserkers were still alive, she could feel it, and that bothered her.

"As always, Major General, you have shown that you are truly an invaluable asset to-" A conquistador had started sucking up, but was cut off when she shoved him aside, took a step forward, and started bending again. She made wider, slower circles, first with her left and then with her right, lightning trailing behind the extended middle and index fingers of each hand. It only took a few seconds, but when she brought her two hands together and thrust them forward, the results were dramatically more powerful. The bright blue blast shook ground for all those near-by when it hit, turning the Plutocracy forces into red mist and breaking the already partially-decayed foundations of the building. It collapsed into a pile of flaming rubble, leaving a tall smoke-stack to drift into the sky.

"This area is no longer safe." She stated, flatly, to her awed troops. "Pack up and get moving. You have two minutes. Move." The ranking conquistador nodded, and quickly started getting everyone ready and organized. They were all serving under her loyally, but none of them dared to tempt fate and take more than two minutes. As the troops packed, she took a moment to herself and walked around the corner of another building, wondering how she'd gotten into this mess in the first place.

She had been advising the General on how to handle this latest when everything had gone to hell. Some Swordsmen they'd met earlier told her that someone had called for a full retreat, and while this was a decent enough plan - she would have preferred simply falling back, in a neat and orderly manner, to one of their predesignated rendezvous locations, but they had to leave either way - she was frustrated that someone else was dishing out the orders. So far as she knew, she was the highest ranking officer alive.

Her goal, at the moment, was to find other Imperials, possibly even whoever was dishing out the orders, and initiate a tactical retreat... As opposed to the mass-fleeing that was going on right now. She sighed, internally, and walked a short distance down an alleyway. A bit of rubble falling down the wall of one of the buildings she was walking past caught her attention and snapped her out of her reflections. She looks up to see a young boy, a beggar, by the looks of his clothes, hanging from the roof. How strange. she thought, idly. "You there! Boy!" She called up to him. "Come down here at once!"

She did want him to come down so she could question him, but didn't actually intend to catch him. Firstly, he was a filthy beggar, so there was no way she would touch him with her bare hands. And secondly, she was sort of hoping he would break him legs when he fell, so he couldn't run away if he found something about her or her questions to be disagreeable. She wondered if he had seen her display of power from up there...

Haruki, still hanging from the rooftops observed the large blast of lightning, shortly followed by it's user walking over and beckoning him down from the roof. It was not a good situation to be caught in, but submission seemed to have a higher chance of survival than retreat, considering the offensive abilities of the other present. He shifted his weight onto one hand and took out one of his daggers with the other and chipped at part of the wall. Quickly making a reasonable hole, he then put his dagger back and held onto the new gap, then shifted his weight to that hand and made another hole, repeating it until the wall was riddled with holes and he was on the ground. He placed both daggers back, although he kept his hands by his sides where he could draw them easily if it came to it, although he would have little chance if it did. He turned and looked at the figure.

"What do you need?"

The other two Berserkers strike, not caring at all that their comrade had just been felled; The one with the Zweihander strikes from the front, unleashing a whirlwind of slashes and stabs aimed to keep Wofle from doing anything besides dodging and parrying. While the one with the shortswords, who was rather unfortunately also a waterbender; slashed open his water sack with one of his shortswords and froze the ground 2 feet behind the merc before taking advantage of the now unstable situation by dashing to the rear and waiting for him to slip.

Pedro didn't see anyone around him and after a few minutes the shellshock passed, he could stand straight again. He seemed fine if not a little brusied and cut from fighting. His favorite Halberd however was shattered. He'd have to rely on his fire bending until he could get it replaced. Fortunately it seems as though the battle was winding down.

Leanne

Edward smiled grimly. "It wasn't easy staying alive. But I managed, because of my hate. Anyway, yes,I met the Avatar. He's our only chance, I wager." The tone of his voice was far from the gentle prince from before. He had changed. Very much.

"....So,are you coming with me?"

Pedro

Morales stood,seemingly not seriously injured.

"By Zeus, that was probably a Plutocracy mine. We...better get out of here."

The two continued on,until they reached a certain alley, where they saw a certain high-ranking officer with a beggar child.

"Ma'am! You're still in the city?!"

Miguel growled.

"If we don't stop her here, this war is as good as over!"

He broke free from Gunter's grasp and jumped back into the fray...

"Come on, beast-woman! Show me what you have!"

Roger used Airbending to massively increase his running speed in order to outrace Miguel stepping in front of the Fire Nation Captain and hitting him hard in the head with the hilt of his cutlass, in what many years of fighting and bar brawling assured him to be a standard knockout blow.

If he succeeded he would bodily drag Miguel back towards the ship.

Roger eyed Gunter for a moment as he did so, daring the soldier to contradict or lecture him "He'sh not my Shuperior Offisher, now ish he?"

Edward nodded.

"Very well,then. Follow me."

Edward calmly walked though the city, moving through the shadowy places as to not be seen.

A few minutes later, Edward and Leanne came upon a small cave a few miles from the city.

Edward walked in and gestured for Leanne to follow.

Inside the cave were three people, a young man with features marking his as an Alliance native, holding a bow, a woman whose features were obscured by the shadows...and finally, a tall, intimidating man with glowing red eyes.

"Avatar Ramon. I've found a potential recruit." Edward told the tall man...

Miguel was quickly knocked unconscious and fell in a heap.

Meanwhile Hyperion, who was on the boat growled at the mistreatment of his rider....

At seeing one of his more fanatical followers bring another potential recruit, The Avatar grinned in excitement and stopped polishing his crimson plate armor with what seems to be a piece of an Imperial Knight's tabard; he was seriously lucking out with the amount of bitter, angry people that were the direct result of the Plutocracy and Empire's petty land-grabbing flocking to his righteous and just cause of spreading destruction and mayhem to this stupid, twisted world.

"Ahhh... Very, Very Goood of you Eddie! Now I wonder what kind of Bender is she- Wait! Waaaaait... Don't fucking tell meeeee... She's an airbender, Just. Like. YOU!"

Ramon pointed at Edward rather forcefully. Before chuckling and assuming a more relaxed stance.

"Well, it's a fine and dandy pleasure to met you miss airbender! I can see YOU have already met your Supposed to be King... But because of the UNJUST AND CRUEL war that my countrymen from Eurooooopa started... Well, Don't want to bore with the details on how I found your king; but I can assure you that it was some seriously scary shit. And I still have nightmares about that encounter... But enough about that! What's your name and social standing prior to everything going to shit in your own home country?"

It was clear that the Avatar was not sound of mind.

Speaking of which, mines? Really? Mines? In the city? If Pedro ever thought anything good of the Plutocracy it was gone now. All they truly card about was winning. Once they had control of the city he'd have to bring the mine problem to an official for now its probably best to just get out.

Wen cringed when Roger knocked Miguel out. He looked around, a bit worried, still thinking if it was a good idea to board this ship when he could have just quietly left the city. But... he was going to Germanica. Oh, this was so exciting! The winds of adventure always pointed towards that city. He looked at the bloodbender, and then heard Roger speaking something in russian. He didn't know russian, so he probably said something along the lines of "get out of my way or I'll break all your bones". Smiling, Wen yelled:

"Yeah! Get out of his way or he'll break all your bones!"

He thrusted his fist in the air, cheering. Then stopped as he realised that the other crew members were giving him looks that said "stop that you idiot".

Haruki/Pedro/Alisa

The Major General looked at the youth quizzically. He didn't seem either intimidated or impressed, which bothered her, but she wasn't sure how to rectify the situation without exploding him, so she dismissed it. "Who are you? What were you doing, hanging from that roof?" She said, cutting straight to the point. She looked the boy up and down, noticing his strange eyes, burnt skin and ornate daggers.

Before she could question him further, however, Morales and Pedro stumbled upon her. "Ah! Finally!" She said, her tone an odd mix of relish and impatience. The Major General had many skills, but expressing relief was not one of them. "I was beginning to think we were the only Imperial troops left... And yes, I know about the mines. They've taken out two of my people already." She notes, with dissatisfaction, as she thinks back to the unfortunate fate of the Swordsmen who had informed her of the retreat. "State you name and rank, soldiers. Is there anyone else with you?"

The berserker with the Zweihander was faster than he looked, frustratingly so, as Wolfe struggled to get any counter-attacks in while dodging and parrying. He heard some splashing behind him, and made the mistake of quickly looking back to see what had happened. He barely managed to dodge a blow from the Zweihander, the large sword cutting clean through his armour and leaving a thin cut on his left peck. This was a bad situation to be in, and he knew it. He was not about to run from a couple of Plutocracy grunts, though.

He quickly channelled his chi through his blade and stuck at the berserker, releasing a thin wave of light and heat onto the berserker's face. The momentary distraction was all he needed to fire a brief jet of fire from his feet and quickly leap over the hulking man, blasting his head from above with another scorching fireball. The Zweihander berserker went down as Wolfe landed awkwardly behind him with a thud.

All that was left now was the Waterbender. And they're always such a pain... Thought Wolfe.

Haruki could tell he was not in a good situation, but the best he could do was run with it. "My name is Haruki. And yes, I'm a homeless beggar child. That is all I have regarding identity. The roof was a result of a slightly flawed attempt at not becoming a civilian casualty." He looked around at the other people now present, more soldiers both making the situation worse for him and informing the apparently high-ranking soldier already present that the situation was further worse. He kept silent on that matter, but he was still present, and a civilian in the middle of a group of militants is rarely something that goes ignored.

The Major General, Pedro had heeard rumors, but she reallys was as beautiful as they say, battle scarred as she was. For a few minutes Pedro entertained thoughts of courting her. But she was no flower to be picked. This wasn't the kind of person who asked nicely she told you what you were going to do and you did it no questions.
