Leanne smiled to herself at the one second sight of the mighty charriot being pulled to a wall and then right into Water forces.

However, this was not enough. It might make them lose momentum but still, as long as the commander drew breath he could still direct the Plutocracy's forces.

Leanne couldn't leave... Not just yet. She had seen one of his guards moving to seek her out by the building she shot her arrow from. The Airbender was now behind a building two houses to the right of the one she shot the arrow from. She laid low and as still as she dared as she waited for the guard to reach the back of buildings were she lay in wait. Once he did... Leanne would use a small trick of an art derived from Airbending. She would project her voice as if making a small cry of pain from the direction opposite from where she lay. If the guard turned to look at the direction the sound came from she would have his back facing right at her... And she would take no time to drive her rapier through it.

Cossack Musketeers look like this and the mail armor isn't just for show.

Eventually the Musketeer reaches the back of the building, scrutinizing every single out of place object he spots and keeping his ears keen for any sudden noises. The Commander meanwhile, is escorted by the other Cossack towards a more secure area; namely a unit of Theign warriors that were taking a breather after having run down a group of routing Imperial soldiers. Seeing the commander and his guard approach him, the warriors stand at attention out.

"Theigns! Guard me until this whole bloody business ends and I shall ensure you are all compensated for fulfilling this task!"

The warriors didn't need to be told twice and formed a defensive ring around the commander. Then one of them asks him a rather sound question.

"Lead on lord."

The Commander then points towards a relatively undamaged watchtower near a plaza, and the group promptly moved towards it, while the Cossack guard moved ahead of the theigns and kept his head on a swivel for more threats.

Leanne slid her rapier noiselessly from its sheath. She had the musketeer just where she wanted him.

The young republic knight then performed her gambit. She used her skills to proyect her voice emitting a groan of pain by the man's right... Just a she rushed to drive her rapier through his back from the left.

The Cossack whipped his head towards the groaned pain to his right, falling for it hook, line and sinker; he gets stabbed by the rapier, but because of his mail armor; the thin blade failed to penetrate deep enough to mortally wound him and thus allowing the Cossack to smash his elbow into Leanne's face.

"You damned coward!"

Throwing his Musket to the side, the Cossack pulls out his saber and attempted to hack into Leanne's shoulder with the heavy, curved blade.

It was always the same during battle, just a swirling g flurry of cold steel, warm blood, and coursing adrenalin. Pedro found him self caught up in this hurricane as he sliced through the Plutocracy soldiers. His mission right now was to kill every piece of water bending scum he could find.

He looked around to find that the group he had been fighting with had been defeated. He was alone against two swordsmen and a water bender.

"Dammit", he swore raising his halberd, "Well come on I don't have all day."

The two swordsmen lunged at him from different directions. Pedro thrusts his halberd forward peircing the ringmail on the left swordsman's chest impaling him. He swing his spear in a wide arc knocking him into second soldier causing him to stagger. With a quick flourish of his hands they were both set ablaze. However Pedro had forgotten something, the water bender, Before he could think a liquid arm crashed into his chest knocking the wind of and sending him to the ground.

Damn, you people write a lot in a day!

Another common soldier swatted away with a searing blast of fire, but there were still at least a half a dozen others to go. They knew they were winning, but he figured that was the only thing that kept them coming. Had the fight been an even one, they most likely would have retreated when the first half of their squad was wiped out. The lone fighter unleashed another blast of fire at a charging soldier with a powerful side-kick, knocking the man over and flash-cooking his head. The others seemed increasingly hesitant to go on fighting, but the hectic noise of battle coming from all around seemed to lead them to believe that since the Plutocracy was winning overall, every battle against Imperial forces must be winnable... And what a mistake that was.

Two spear-men charged him from either side, but it was a clumsy assault, marred by uncertainty and a general lack of skill compared to their opponent. A quick duck and a flaming sweep burnt the legs of both men, causing them to topple over. His short sword made quick work of one, while the other revived a fireball to the face as he struggled to regain his defence. The last three men were finally more intimidated then they were motivated to keep fighting, and quickly turned and fled. The cruel grin hidden by the bandana and helmet grew a little bigger as the retreating men left their rear flanks completely open to a scorching wave of fire.

A dozen smoking bodies lay around him, and he couldn't resist chuckling a little bit. They had tried so hard, but had ultimately failed just as hard. He considered it a point of personal pride that he was better than a dozen other men from the Plutocracy, and found it deeply satisfying that he was probably paid more than they were, too. Regardless, however, the smell of toasted bodies was not a pleasant one, and with the Imperial forces retreating it seemed clear that he should be following suite; as powerful as he was, being caught behind enemy lines was never a good idea. Even if he was working as a mercenary, he was a mercenary working for the Fire Empire, so it was unlikely the Plutocracy would show him any leniency. And if they somehow found out about his true origins... Well, then they definitely wouldn't show any mercy.

He turned around and started to leave, only to be met with the sight of three berserkers. A smug smirk faded to a dissatisfied frown. Sure, berserkers put up a good fight, and yes, he did love a good fight, but there was a time and place. Even he knew when to fall back and regroup. He sighed internally, and hoped they wouldn't delay him for too long. Wolfe Eanfrith resumed his fighting stance...

Not entirely dead.

"Yesh we're goin' ta Germania, it was either tha' 'r fight the offishersh n' risk one of you boysh bein' hurt in the crosshfire." Roger's slurred speech certainly implied that he himself would have come out none the worse for wear.

Roger headed towards the area where the Halcyon was docked. She was a fifth rate ship by the old classification system, though modified a little; the word Frigate might not have been out of place depending on who you asked. The sails stood out stark and white as Roger stumbled aboard, the crew taking it as a matter of course, not even eying the newcomers he brought with him.

Wen followed Roger into the ship, giving his crew scared smiles, still hiding behind the Captain. He soon stopped the man, standing in front of him:

"Sir! I-I'm not a pirate! Can't you just d-drop me at the nearest Earth Alliance base, and we'll leave in a good note. I just want to get material for my stories, not get into the heart of the Fire Empire—"

He immediately stopped. And began to look around, feeling the winds of adventure. They were whispering to him... Germanica... Germanica... His stories had been fun little hobbies, but in Germanica, maybe he could sell them! Maybe he could live even bigger adventures and write even better stories. He turned towards Roger, his smile still scared, but a bit more happy:

"I-I'm glad to join you, sir! Wen... Wen Bo-Cheng, that's my name."

He was quite obviously still drunk, though the crew seemed completely undisturbed by this fact. He put a fatherly/brotherly/eccentric uncle-ly/arm around Wen's shoulder and gestured out at the open ocean

Gunter had followed Roger and Wen, managing to drag Miguel and his mount along with him.

Waiting for Death to go online.

The Berserker trio Wolfe had found himself facing off against were clearly hardened veterans judging from the number of heads they had tied to their waists. The first, and probably the leader of the pack was a massive bear of a man clad in boar's pelt and carrying a large, bloody Zweihander; most likely looted from an Imperial officer whose throat he tore off with his teeth. The second man, carrying a dane axe was not quite as large as the first but from the foaming of his mouth and the glazed look in his eyes looked to be addled on the "magic potion", making him nigh-immune to pain and making his rage unnaturally intense even for a Berserker. The last and smallest of the three, was a lithe and flexible-looking man wearing a headscarf and a fur cloak while carrying a pair of gore-coated shortswords. After a few moments of sizing up their quarry, the Berserkers attack; with the one under the effects of the magic potion being the first to attack, swinging his axe horizontally in an attempt to chop the Mercenary in half.

Miguel sighed.

How the hell did this happen, anyway?

"Orman, what the hell are you thinking? I have to report back to Agnos City! And that's a week-long travel from Germanica!" he whispered to Gunter.

The captain sighed again. This was definitely not according to plan. But still, getting out of that hellhole alive was an accomplishment. Maybe he'd just persuade the pirates to let him disembark at Agnos....

Meanwhile, the two soldiers were gratefully thanking the pirate.

"T-thank you, Captain Roger! You saved our hides, man! We'll be glad to serve as your crew! I'm Biggs Martinez." said one, a short, young soldier with spiky red hair.

"I'm Wedge Marquez!" said his companion, a tall, gangly youth with long black hair.

...But before the group could reach the the ship, a chill went down Miguel's spine.

"Duck,fools!"

Just as he said that, something sharp and wicked looking came flying at them.

Miguel turned, and saw something that chilled him even more.

"By Zeus!" he cursed.

They were face-to-face with the bloodbender....

Morana simply swatted it out of the air, smashing it to pieces. She crouched close to the ground, at launched herself at the fleeing Imperials. She could see him. The lieutenant. I've got you now~

Raising one arm in the air, she formed a blade made from interlocking lattices of blood. Without gesture or warning, she swung down at Miguel.

"Kuh!"

Leanne received the dizzying hit on her face... but as a proper Airbender she did not resist it, she let the punch and its impact carry her far back... she retreated a few steps and then jumped back a few more, shaking her her to let her confusion fade away... and thankfully her hasty retreat saved her from the retribution from the bodyguard.

Leanne unsheathed her dagger with her second hand and then got into a light stance... shifting her weight from one feet to the other, nearly hopping a bit. Airbender were twinkle toes after all.

After that she rushed forward at the Musketeer, waving her rapier as a means of doing her Airbending... a horizontal strike from left to right meant to create a powerful gust of wind that would smash the man against the wall of the building.

Haruki

The boy who was on the roof saw that the others had left, but before he could do anything, he saw that a trio of Imperial soldiers who were trying to flee on the roof were heading straight for him...

Robert

The old man had not gotten far when a Flamewyrm, probably from a dead Imperial officer came rushing at him....

Pedro

Morales, the soldier who had accepted Miguel's orders, saw the unconscious soldier, grabbed him, and ran like hell.

"Oy,Pedro! You still in the land of the living? I saw the captain go to the docks! Hang on!"

Miguel cursed. Luckily for him, Gunter did not do any lasting damage to his arm.

Gods,I really don't want to face this beast-woman, but I have to draw her away from the ship...

"You! Beast-woman! I am your opponent!"

Miguel held out his hand, and a blast of crimson flame shot at the bloodbender...

Leanne

The situation was becoming extremely risky, but before anything else could happen, a raging gust of wind struck the musketeer from behind, brutally dismembering him with razor sharp gales.

As Leanne turned to look at her savior, she saw a man that should have been dead.

Edward Aloysious Roan. A few days before the republic had fallen,Edward had been voted by the senate as the new sovereign. He never got to even sit on the throne.

Edward's face was marked with lines, as if he had gone through great suffering, and his eyes were alight with a sort of madness. But there was no question. This was the man who would be king.

Edward held out his hand towards her.

"Knight of the Republic, come with me. I shall introduce you to the Avatar!"

Yes, Leanne gets to meet Ramon first!

Though it probably wasn´t a big deal, Robert decided to have that burn examined. Upon finding and entering the healer´s tent, he was greeted by an old, small woman that, the second she saw him, turned completely pale. "By the moon spirit, that are the worst burns I´ve ever seen in my entire life! It´ll take quite a few days for you to recover...", she spoke. "Of course...it´s never nothing...", Robert sighed as he was led to a bed.

He ignored the first part of the soldiers comment as he rose from the abyss of unconsciousness. How could he let some Plutocracy scum actually get the better of him, and what's was worse they hadn't even bothered to kill him. But wait what did he say? The docks? What were we going there for? Was the captain retreating? Pedro was sure they were winning.
