I like that Roger and Ramon are both nihilists or existentialists, but Roger chose to be an Anti-Nihilist and Ramon chose to be a Nietzsche Wannabe.

Don't worry, him or the co-GM will be around sooner or later. I think one of them said they're operating on Hong Kong time, so...
As for the story, well, there's a few different subplots going on, but the basic premise in the OP is still pretty much accurate; The Fire Empire was fighting the Water Plutocracy over a city in the fallen Wind Republic. Fire got beaten back and (until very, very recently) was retreating from the city (the Commanding Officers from the battle are now meeting up at the dock, and the Empire just received some reinforcements). A mixed group of varyingly dangerous others of various allegiances aboard a pirate's ship are headed back to the Fire Empire, but they've already left.. Also, the Avatar's hidden near-by... And he's crazy!

Not entirely dead.Hmm, so the reinforcements just got there, maybe a good time for Dolph's elite troops to show up as well.
And...Ramon is acting suspiciously Big Bad-ish.

That's because he is. But unfortunately he is (Currently) far from the biggest threat in the storyline.
Shameless Self-promotion ho!Oh and Death, You'll be doing the Plutocracy soldiers that are fighting and now badly losing to the 9th.
Shameless Self-promotion ho!So any ideas on where I should drop a metal-bending Battousai the Manslayer Captain Ersatz?
Strigon said he had plans, is there something that you would like me to do to move the plot along?
Fear the Gothilolions! | Anime listI think you should wait for the battle to settle down first before introducing Mr. metalbender, cause he'd be trying to assassinate Cortes in his command tent.
Shameless Self-promotion ho!

....Sure!
