I really like the concept of Atmospheric beasts
(not the cryptozoological stuff, the idea of a hypothetical lighter-than-air creature living in a gas giant).
Also, do Artificial Life
beings count as alien for the purpose of this thread? Many of them are pretty bizarre — for example, the ones of Tierra
are programs, reproducing, evolving, predating and parasitizing each other in a simulated computer environment.
That sounds like something more along the lines of artificial intelligence, which has more to do with programming than alien life IMO.
I've seen some atmospheric beasts before, like the Beldons from Bespin and the Etherean races from Master of Orion 3.
Chryssalid is my all-time favorite alien. It's essentially a Xenomorph in crab form, and it's one of the scariest creatures I've ever met.
Okay, fine! I'm going to do something I'm sort of good at!So a while back Games Radar had funny people and a funny podcast. One of those funny people was Scott Butterworth, who knows a awful lot about aliens and talked about it on one of the podcasts.
It's surprisingly creepy for a comedy podcast.
I hear Radec is good at his job.

Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!I haven't seen much of The Grays outside of X-Com. IMO, their roles in X-Com as the Sectoids and Aquatoids were their best.
Not to mention their role as the Reticulans in UFO: After-Blank, where they managed to conquer the Earth in a manner resembling War of the Worlds minus the giant mechs.
Okay, fine! I'm going to do something I'm sort of good at!

This thread is about aliens of all kinds from all walks of life...or somesort.
I've always been fascinated by aliens, mostly from how bizarre they could be. Bizarre alien life is my most favorite aspect of space.
