Answer me this: why should Sansa or the rest of the North trust or respect Dany?

The overall point of the show is people are people and they are the same elsewhere. Decent people have good reason to be afraid of Daenerys and oppose her, even if she is good, so its a Good Versus Good situation.

This reminds me of this wonderful game Horizon Zero Dawn (which I think is heavily inspired by Game of Thrones or the ASOIAF books), there's a speech at the end where Aloy, a mix of Jon Snow and Daenerys, says, "First you shun me, now this? I will not be worshiped! I am not your anointed! I don't belong to you. There is a whole world beyond your borders. Whole tribes of people just as good as you. There is a world of people out there, just as good as you. And it is all in danger! (pause) And it is a world worth fighting for."

I think that's the direction both Jon and Dany are heading in.

[up][up] Fear. Because she's really used to ruling through fear. She doesn't want to; she wants to be a beloved benevolent ruler but she keeps reverting to ruling through fear when that doesn't work out.

Which is always, by the way.

Hmm, fear doesn’t seem like a good reason to trust or respect her.

She's literally saving their asses

This doesn't strike me as an objective view of Danaerys here. She undeniably has the most to bring to the fight against the WW and here we are complaining that she disposes of slavers and enemy combatants slightly more efficiently than everyone else does. That dragonglass was hers. Those dragons are hers. Most of the fighting force up there now is hers.

They honestly cannot even fight this war without her resources. She can call herself whatever she wants.

Or they blame her for the White Walkers being able to get through the Wall in the first place and see it as a war they only have to fight in the first place because of her losing a dragon.

She lost the dragon in an effort to save Jon Snow. Anyone who blames Dany for the fall of the wall is more or less saying she should have left Jon Snow to die. Say it, own up to it, and then make that case then.

[up] I thought it was a melee weapon that could be broken down by removing the top and turning it into two shorter weapons. Like a long spear with a weighted butt that could be broken down into a short spear and a club. I have seen speculation that it might be a blow gun or something that can double as a spear and a blow gun.

I thought it was a blowgun. My bigger question is who is she trying to assassinate?

Her list is now just Cersei and the Mountain. But I expect Jaime to kill Cersei, and Arya shouldn't taint a Cleganebowl (get hype) win for the Hound, foster daughter or no.

That said, while Melisandre was removed from the list, she did expect she'd die in Westeros. Maybe Dragonglass kills Red Wizards dead?

Maybe she's the only one smart enough to sniper the Night King.

When Ilyn Payne's actor beat cancer, they should've written him back into the show. Cersei has very few people to interact with now. Pretty much just Qyburn. She detests Euron, and may not interact a ton with Gold(en Company) Leader (whose name I already forgot) and her and Bronn's actors likely won't share screen time.

Realistically talking about weak food is one thing, doing it publicly in an open forum and bashing your guest who is there to save your ass is, A) Obnoxious, B) Rude, C) Inane. And it's insubordinate. As a vassal, you aren't supposed to give lip to your royal guest.

And that's how we had Kings like Robert. A council of echos who agree to his whims when the kingdom cannot afford such lavish shows of wealth. Ned standing up to the King, as a trusted adviser is supposed to do, was arguably one of his greatest assets.

Sansa not standing for Dany throwing her weight around draws the line early and makes good point public. It quells the whispers in the room if she asks their questions of her and shows that SOMEONE is thinking about the logistics. And having the goddamn discussion about it is far better than going into some back room after a meeting and going "What the hell, Hero?" only to get a "Don't worry about it" in front of no one and the problem never gets resolved. God knows I've experienced THAT problem in real life many times.

And that's how we had Kings like Robert.

A guy who let himself be browbeaten in public by Cersei into doing embarassing and weak stunts like that whole "Lady" business. Robert's problem wasn't that he had yes men, it's that he tended to be lazy and lacked a strong will and allowed himself to be shamed and manipulated by Cersei and others.

A council of echos who agree to his whims when the kingdom cannot afford such lavish shows of wealth.

By bringing in Robert in this context, are you equating Dany's arrival to a "lavish show of wealth", isn't it an army that's sticking its neck out for all of Westeros and the North in particular when the rest of Westeros, including the Citadel, are all "Let them die, they're just Northmen". That's like Gondorians calling the Ride of the Rohirrim and the arrival of Rohan in The Return of the King a "lavish show of wealth" and not you know Big Damn Heroes.

It quells the whispers in the room if she asks their questions of her and shows that SOMEONE is thinking about the logistics.

To paraphrase Tony Stark in the MCU, "A hostile undead army is coming in to make all of us, including you, me and everyone in this room into zombies. We're standing just a few miles away. We're the nobility, we can screw over and insult and backbite each other all day, but that out there is the endgame, how are you planning on beating that?"

And instead of Sansa saying "together" like Steve Rogers does, she says "but there are too many smelly foreigners with mouths and bellies".

[up][up] The army of the dead arguably makes Sansa's point even more important. Because if the army (or peasants taking shelter in your castle) starts starving to death while you're under siege you now suddenly have Wights showing up inside of your fortified castle tearing your defenses apart.

They had provisions for three years. Now maybe less than one. The Dead are this side of the wall. However much food they have, they ain't have time to eat it.

Besides, those armies MUST have have some food for travel. They clearly aren't starving.
