"The blue haired Nitro girl is my favorite"

Her name is Megumi.

"I like the one that appeared when you won as Polar, Pura or Penta. Liz was it?"

Yes, it's Liz, but she doesn't appear for Penta. Ami does.

Megumi appeared with Cortex and N.Gin, Isabella with Crash and Coco, Liz with Polar and Pura, and Ami with Tiny and Dingodile, as well as with the entire unlockable roster.

By the way, is Penta confirmed as a female? The presentation video referred to the penguin with female pronouns.

No, he's a male. The same presentation said "she" had stats akin to Polar and Pura, while the screen shwed otherwise.

Day Two of E3 confirmed more Crash Tag Team Racing content, including characters and inspired tracks (which may mean retooled versions of the game's tracks or new ones inspired by its aesthetics).

If Pasadena is playable in this game, I have my main racer. grin

Pasadena will probably added when the Grand Prix gets to CTTR.

I'm hoping for Nina Cortex. And, as much of a longshot as it is, Yaya Panda.

I pre-ordered the game due to all the good and fun stuff I am seeing. I do wonder if it might get a multiplayer scene like Mario Kart's? The original Crash racing games only had local multiplayer only pretty much

Pretty certain online multiplayer was confirmed. If you mean how many players it will have, I think it should have enough to find a decent match pretty quickly. YMMV by location of course.

I missed the part where that's my problem.

Jeeeeeesus Christ the Rubber-Band A.I. in this game is nuts. Either that or I just suck. I struggled like mad with Sewer Speedway (although I lowkey always hated that track), and I honestly don't remember Ripper Roo being so difficult in the original. Can't even begin to count the amount of retries and second-place finishes against that fucker and his stupid TNT crates. Even when I got the hang of power slide boosting he was a pain.

Just got the Switch version! I've heard people saying the loading times are long on this version, I hope it's not too noticeable. We'll see tonight!

After testing, yeah, it's rather bad. You can take 30 seconds to a minute to load a race before it begins (without any music). Yikes. On short races where you're less than 2 minutes on the road, that's really a bummer. I can just doze off for a bit when I'm playing solo, but with friends or online, that's going to become old rather fast.

Let's just hope they fix it in a later patch, maybe. On the other hand, the game looks great, a bit more aliasing than the PS 4 version but it doesn't hurt the eyes in the slightest!

[up][up][up]There was music during that?

Crash Bash wasn't that bad though.

Since it wasn't brought up yet. I got the game and am loving it so far....but I noticed that the Pit Stop looks very predatory and definitely like a set up for microtransactions. Not to mention that a lot of the characters have to be unlocked in that shop for some reason which will take a ridiculous amount of grinding judging by my wumpa coin gains so far.

That whole set-up is putting a sour taste in my mouth for an otherwise fun experience so far (barring that long load times on Switch and weird aliasing). Fucking Acti Blizz...

[up] From what I've read in comments, they give out much more coins in online mode. While I only got 20 to 40 coins per race in the Adventure mode, someone got almost 300 for finishing 4th in a single online race. The grind might not be as hard as it seems.

I hate the rotating shop myself. I was saving for a nice pack of skins that got rotated away until God knows when... So I guess I'll keep saving!

If you want to get the Nitro Girls soon you should pretty much save.

And yeah, right now I don't think I will be able to get online on my switch so getting coins that way won't be viable.

Question:

Yesterday, I played the game at a friend's house on his PS4 and had a great time. In two-player mode, I logged in to my PSN account. Do I get any trophies or coins for the races I played at his place? The game didn't indicate that I got anything. I had not yet installed the game on my own console at the time, mind you.

I've heard only the first player gets anything in local multiplayer, which is an issue. Other issues I've seen on the Crash subreddit:

Save corruption is a possibility. Appears to be PS4 exclusive, but no one really knows for sure. Backups to USB or cloud are a good idea.

Sewer Speedway appears to be pretty broken regarding how the sewer sections work. You can't powerslide on the ramps the same way anymore. Also hard and inconsistent to reach the shortcut as now.

Some visual bugginess. Morphing characters, invisible karts, ghosting.

Now, bugs and flaws like the pit stop are a problem, but not really surprising. The real question here is how well the devs will deal with them. Let's hope we get some fast fixes.

That's kinda lame. Really defeats the purpose of logging in to your account when you're at a friend's house.

For the PSX version, I didn't know how to drift-boost, yet I was able to breeze through everything up to Papu Papu. For Nitro-Fueled, I tried Adventure mode on medium difficulty and I couldn't get past Sewer Speedway after ten or so attempts. I got frustrated enough to delete my save and try again on easy, which is if anything too easy.

What happened?
