I never said that my estimate was anywhere close to being accurate. And of course, don't forget that this is Pewdiepie, and presumably he would get more money from his ads because of his gigantic popularity, not to mention other sources of income besides strictly ads.
Indeed, more research seems to point to it being more like .5 cents per view. That's still $15000 per video, or, from my earlier estimate, $125 per minute of effort.
Still, in my opinion, making more money than he deserves.

Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about.
Yeah but that makes a big bit of difference. Going from your evaluated "OMG he makes 2 K ber minutes of video" and "He makes between 20$ to 100$ per minutes of videos" (Which still adds up to a nice salary)
I'm not saying he's not making major cash due to his ludicrously high view count of course. But going by what other fairly successful (Though not nearly as much as Pew Die Pie) Youtube content providers have mentioned in the past, I doubt he makes as much as your math implied.
I'm sure he doesn't. I would run a more accurate analysis, but when I try to use a calculator for these sorts of things it won't input properly because his subscribers and views are Off the Scale.
Fact is, these estimates aren't anything good because he's in some sort of special place as the #1 Youtuber. I think I'll just settle for the nice vague estimate of $Too Much.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.More so MSTing them. Admittedly, their early stuff can get kinda mean-spirited at times, but they're far more mellow by now, and mostly just crack jokes and mock technical flaws in the videos rather than the people themselves. And they have a lot of non-LP but still video game related stuff, like videos riffing on cheesy/bad/forgotten/all three video games and riffs on bad Newgrounds flash games (which they mostly did to try to get away from the negativity being sent toward people). They do still riff on Let's Plays from time to time, but they've more recently been the exception rather than the rule, and they highly discourage people from actually attacking the LPers whose videos they mock, since it's more supposed to be a silly fun thing than a hate thing.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here. He's apparently cameoing on South Park as I type this.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)He is.
I never saw that coming.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Apparently this
is going around the internet. Okay then...

According to Totalbiscuit (Who literally makes his living on youtube) some packages are indeed "Pay per ad viewed" (He explains Youtube's various publicity packages and their payouts in the following videos). Note for example that the ads with a skip option only pay if the person doesn't hit the skip button.
That said, the evaluation of 8 cents per view is grossly overestimated. I'd not be surprised it's 1/100th or 1/1000th that. Partially because a simple look at the kind of ads youtube serves (Some coming from businesses that aren't actually big mega corporation) shows no one could afford to run ads on youtube if they paid that much.
