A sex scene between sixteen-year-olds in a series sold in bookstores? Sounds like an easy angel.

Yeah lol. We have way more explicit then that.

The sex scene is fairly graphic, so I figured I'd ask.

So far as Tsugumomo goes, the manga is a dumpster-fire that definitely violates TV Tropes' content policy.

The company who was publishing the manga in english went out of business but it was being published in the US, you could buy it at my local Barnes and Noble.

The Anime got a dub and physical release. which you can buy at walmart.

Like people above our paygrade have decided its fine...

Isn't the dub/Blu-ray version censored, though?

If the manga is uncensored and not shrink-wrapped at B&N, that would be a case to let it by, though. Even that's not a hard rule, though, just a much higher bar. Bio of a Space Tyrant and The Cross-Time Engineer are "mainstream" literature that the P5 axed as outright pedo-fantasies.

[up][up] Yeah, the anime is a definite case of Bleached Underpants with a heaping helping of Bowdlerised.

[up] Not off the top of my head, and skimming it once was stomach-turning enough for me to not want to do so again. In later arcs the manga becomes all-but explicitly pornographic, and several of the characters are pedo-pandering. While it can be argued that Kiriha, Kukuri, and Mimane are all Really 700 Years Old and thus scrape by using the paper-thin (and illegal in some countries) "legal loli" argument, the same cannot be said for the Azamis — who are shown naked in a hot-springs chapter, Kanaka Kagami — who as a prepubescent child raped Kiriha under the pretense of Skinship Grope, and Kazuya's older sister instructing him on how to masturbate her when he was a small child — leading to him molesting Kiriha and Kukuri. There's also Madarai being reincarnated as a little girl and left in the "care" of the openly pedophilic character as punishment for what he pulled in the tournament arc, and pretty much everything Dabada did during the Chronicles of Ziral arc.

Not familiar with the series but I do know that "legal loli" shit doesn't fly here either, so that's still probably a concern.

Is all that sex shit depicted as alluring or casually acceptable in any way, or is it played for drama? The fact that pedophilia is treated as a punishment in one instance could work in its favor.

[down]Yeeeeeaaaaah, that doesn't sound promising.

A lot of it is played for laughs and fanservice — with the author apparently stating his personal goal is to show at least one female character naked per chapter. Even the stuff that could be argued is played for drama is ultimately used for fanservice and comedy — Kazuya is horrified and disgusted by what his big sister did, and mortified by his actions... but the other characters present joke that he was a "player" even as a child and that he definitely takes after his mom.

Really 700 Years Old doesn't fly as an excuse here. Bleached Underpants on the other hand, are respected, so the page has chances of staying with just the anime for material.

Checking the wiki, Kiriha seems to be skirting the border of totally childish looks, but Kukuri is fully in under the line. Plot synopsis on Madarai also has plenty of sketchyness in terms of sexual interactions.

Mimane is definitely a child, yep. Others mentioned don't have enough pics on the wiki to be clear on how they look in detail. I'll look into the manga arcs later when I'm not stuck on phone.

Do you recall which arc the hot springs molestation episode was in?

With Kanaka and Kiriha? No, but IIRC it was during the same flashback arc where it was revealed Kazuya's sister is an incestuous pedophile. =_=

I guess we could scrub the manga page and transfer the anime-specific content to an Anime/Tsugumomo page, with a note that the manga's page was cut for violating TV Tropes' content guidelines?

If I'm reading your post correctly, the one with Kanaka leading someone to molesting Kiriha and Kukuri. It sounds kinda like a smoking gun. Flashback I could probably find through plot synopses easily, as well as some Kanaka and Madarai.

[up] Sounds good to me, I guess.

There's a flashback arc showing Kiriha's backstory shortly after her apparent death. Kiriha was initially a prim and proper person until she was partnered with Kanaka when the latter was a young — definitely prepubescent — child. Kanaka proceeded to repeatedly rape Kiriha under the pretence of Skinship Grope, turning her into the brash and lewd character Kazuya encountered decades later, with the other exorcists at-most rolling their eyes and shaking their heads in mild disapproval.

Upon being sent to serve Kukuri, Kiriha and Kanaka proceed to rape her as well, and they end up in a three-way lesbian relationship until Kanaka marries her husband. IIRC Kanaka was a teenager at this point, and Kukuri had her adult appearance at the time due to her "loli" form being a Sleep-Mode Size from her expending most of her power keeping Kanaka sealed away.

And later - IIRC in that same flashback arc - it's revealed that when Kazuya was a small child, his incestuous older sister Kazumi Kagami would use bathing with him as an excuse to get him to masturbate her, which led to him naively sexually assaulting Kiriha (who appeared to be a young adult due to being partnered with Kanaka) and Kukuri (who also had her adult form at this time).

On the subject of Skinship Grope...is that page image SFW? Her breasts are mostly censored but it's still worth discussing since there's no IP thread. Worth nothing the characters are apparently around 15-16 though they look even younger.

There is Opaque Water and such, it seems fine.

The art style for the gag is not very detailed, which is preferable, although slightly Super-Deformed for the gag panel. Nothing is shown and... permission is asked which is a critical piece that is uncommon for the trope, sadly.

EDIT: Really, No Opaque Water trope?

[up][up] The Hidamari Sketch wiki doesn't give specific ages, but given that the characters in-question are first and second year students at a Japanese high-school your estimate is most-likely correct.

[up] That's surprising considering it's such a common censorship trope. Perhaps it's under a different name... and no it isn't.

Oh great, apparently some scanlation group has also taken special care with the chapters, making an extra dedicated special version where they went ahead, edited out crotch-covering vfx and "restored" the would-be genital depictions [lol][lol][lol] Including on very little girls sadsadsad

Censor Steam is the closest thing I can think of. The "opaque water" trope is also used in plenty of non-sexualized works.

There's just sex every other chapter wow. Classic "mana recharge" sex, then tentacle monster (featuring guest star, childlike halfling girl), then naked torture scene, then more mana charge sex, then a girl masturbating, then just a couple more naked childlikes... It just goes on.

Yeah I'm very much convinced on devilhead for the manga. There is a plot going on so the sex scenes alone could maybe slip but also constant little girls are nooope.
