It's cool. You just missed some terrible mental images you didn't need. Welcome back. At least this series is set in high school.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI know, Tdgoodrich1, I know. I read through it and honestly, more than 100 posts since I bloody went to sleep?
I do find it hilarious that I keep getting told to shut up and let the P5 get to a work when they get to it, with the emphasis that they're working from the back, but everytime someone brings in a new Visual Novel or something, it gets all the focus and attention with no real progress on the old stuff. But eh. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenThere's a translation of the light novel of High School DxD here, if for some reason it's deemed appropriate to judge each separately.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Someone added Freudian Excuse to the queue? It's obviously not something we want to lose, but it might need a perv-cleaning in TRS.
The only reason I could think of is the 5th novel, which is Koneko's (the aforementioned young-looking character) Day In The Limelight, but it's still being translated and going by the illustrations, it doesn't seem any worse than any of the others.

Re: Highschool Dx D Episode 1
Oh, come on, the first non-narration line out of the protagonist's mouth is "Ahh, I wanna squeeze some boobs". You're shitting me. This is what passes for dialogue? Disclaimer
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard Cohenedit: Nevermind, I thought I'd already said something on this series, and looking at the PPPPP thread I found that I was right. Since I said it better at the time, I'll just link to my original post on High School DxD

Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project!...Freudian Excuse has nothing to do with porn/sex/perv. It's about bad past experiences which explain a character's evil actions. "He kills people cause they murdered his family" and so on.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerZapped. That one falls under the category of "Oh come on, really?" I'm hoping it was a misclick.

Update the first: Version on Hulu censors out some panty shots and all naked breasts. Presumably other versions do as well. Nothing here out of place in an older-shonen ecchifest. Nothing worth calling porn or pedopandering at the first adbreak.
"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenI say this with (albeit amused) sincerity, but I look forward to goodrich's reaction when he gets to the End song/credits sequence. >:)
Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project! It's censored on Hulu, but the original doesn't censor the breasts or panty shots. The only example I recall is one where Rias would have been naked from the waist-down, and that's an isolated incident.

There is precedent for allowing the censored version even if we don't allow the uncensored version. It's sounding like the censored version at least is fine.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickOh God, I mixed up Freudian Excuse with Freudian Slip. Freudian Excuse Slippage for the win? XD
You mean the pole dancing? It made me laugh, but I'm the type who's not easily impressed by fanservice anymore, so such blatant uses of it cause that reaction to me.
From what I saw of it, the flat-chested girl is not younger than the others, just minute, and doesn't look like a child in any case. I don't know if there's a younger character too, though.

Re: Highschool Dx D Ep. 1
Second adbreak. Nothing worth mentioning, just more shonen ecchi panderfest. No qualms showing nipples in relief under clothes. I actually kinda like the dude's alarm clock, though.
Update: One token panty shot from a young-looking girl (~14? Girl was only onscreen for maybe 10 sec. the entire episode). Also, maybe it's just that I'm watching the censored version, but that ED wasn't all that bad.
Ep. 6:
Correction: Not young looking, just flatter than the rest. There is an even younger-looking girl, but no fanservice from her yet. Also I guess that wasn't the ED. They stuck the OP at the end, which ain't the first time it's been done.

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenOh it wasn't that bad. I did vote to keep the show, after all. I just found it surprising and hilarious that the ED sequence was full of pole-dancing out of nowhere.
Though, given the stuff I've reviewed since taking this position, I guess I should instead be surprised that anything surprises me anymore.
edit: spoilered, since you hadn't actually watched the ED yet, though the cat may be out of the bag now.

Visit my contributor page to assist with the "I Like The Cheeses" project! There is some fanservice from Koneko (the younger looking one), but like I said, there isn't any from her exclusively. By that I mean that any fanservice from her is either in a group scene (with focus being given more to the other girls) or a fight scene (via Clothing Damage, but the fight is still the main focus).
Re: Highschool Dx D ep. 6:
Nothing worth reporting. Still a terrible ecchifest, but not the worst I have seen.
Update: Right after I post that, a fanservicey eyecatch of the little one. I need to learn to keep my damned mouth shut.
Update the second: Poledancing in anime. Sadly ain't nothing I haven't seen before. Terrible and pandery, but not new. Bigger complaint was the seizure-licious color palette.
Ep. 9
More of the same. Bath scene, heavy censor steam. Ready to call at halfway mark.
Verdict: Keep, clean if necessary
Pro:
- Censored versions available, if nothing else we can limit page to these
- TV anime licensed for US release under mainstream label
- Little fanservice of the little one
Con:
- Still some minor sexualization of the little one
There's a censored version, and even still, it's only slightly more explicit than other ecchi anime. Nothing to worry about, honestly.
Since there was some recent discussion of Ro Kyu Bu, should I take a look at that one too, or is that horse already at the glue factory?

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenConsidering Komodin said he's not going to change his vote at all, and the fact that there's really only 3 panel members left, it's doubtful it'd change anything.
Note: To anyone who's reading into this more than they should, I'm not insulting Komodin. I respect his decision; I'm just saying that since he's adamant on not changing his vote, and a work requires 3 devils or angels, it's doubtful presenting more evidence would change anything.
By the way, am I the only one that sees a problem with a work still requiring 3 votes either way when there are only 3 people left on the panel? That means there has to be a 100% consensus that a work is either fine or bad, which is bad, since, as someone said, some things are subjective. What happens if a new work is given 2 angels and 1 devil by the current panel members (and no votes from the ones that aren't around/aren't a part of the council anymore)? Won't that work just be stuck in limbo for a long time, until another panel member can be found?
There are still four people on the panel. We just haven't heard from Catalogue in a long time. Something similar happened way back at the start of all this.
I think that FE would provide the deciding vote if Catalogue isn't around, or if a new P5 guy hasn't been found yet.
Where do you get the 3 people thing? Catalogue told us a while back that real life may be intruding on his time here. He hasn't resigned. I know we're on internet time but it's only been two weeks.
There will be five members. We're looking for someone to replace Martello. It's difficult because we don't have many good candidates, and a good candidate we once had, refused the position.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - Fighteer
Eh, it's nothing to be overly worried about. I think the situation's pretty much under control.
