I take offense to that last one.
Ikki Tousen is just Yet Another Romance Of The Three Kingdoms Story.
Even the onlooking character is baffled
@Raidou: Don't ask questions to which you will regret knowing the answer.
@Catbert: If I recall correctly, this thread originally was for policy questions only; there wasn't to be any place to kibitz on works that hadn't been given threads. Nobody listened, and the 5P mutated into a more open forum.
Anyway, individual works and general policy discussions will always bleed over into each other. I don't see the necessity of a new thread.
I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own.Next, imagine all of the questionable content in every Rance game as various bags piled on top of that camel; the rapes committed by the main character; the fact that there's little, if any, comeuppance for them; that stupid, shit-eating grin that man always seems to constantly sport; stuff like that there.
We don't have a policy against works that glorify rape, so those things shouldn't be loading the camel's back in the first place.
I agree, of course, that that's how people are reacting—the fact that there is material that is squicky, but not against policy, gives them an incentive to look at other material superficially so that they can claim to have found something that is against policy. But they're not supposed to be doing that. We saw exactly the same thing happen with Fifty Shades of Grey, when the fact that it is poorly written, contains BDSM, and appeals to an audience whose demographics are very different from this site led to utterly ridiculous arguments that ultimately meant "I didn't like it for reason A, so there must be something in it that violates rule B".
I have to agree in general; you shouldn't be loading a "pedo" straw on the "porn" camel. The two axes have completely different criteria.
(Disclaimer: I have no particular interest in Rance one way or the other; this is a general statement.)
I despise hypocrisy, unless of course it is my own.Komodin already requested we drop the subject of the Rance games. Let's honor that request, yes?

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenA rape scene presented in a 'glorifying' way is pornographic.
Sorry, you posted while I was typing.

~Cute and fluffy romance for all!~Turning to the backlog for a moment...I thought I'd look at some webcomics, since those are relatively easy to check.
- Webcomic.Curvy: This one was hard to judge. I get the feeling the author was intending to create porn, but got caught up in the story instead. There's a lot of explicit material, but also a whole lot of really weird plot going on. I didn't find the sexy bits very sexy, but still found the story rather intriguing. I may even keep reading this one. Conclusion: I'm honestly not sure, sorry.
- Elle And All The Others: In a nutshell: Manic Pixie Dream Girl appears, tells boy they're destined to be together, but first he needs some sexual experience. She gives him the power to magically seduce women, and he runs around town using it. Graphically. Conclusion: Porn.
- Moon Over June: behind a paywall on the already-cut Slipshine site, a site for porn comics. Almost certainly should be cut unless/until someone with an account wants to appeal.
- Webcomic.NSFW Comix: Disturbing site, but it seems more intended to be gross and disgusting than to titillate. I had to go back a couple pages to find anything overtly sexual, and the first I found was: the sun growing a penis and, um, ejaculating on the planet venus during its recent transit. Other highlights of my fun, fun visit included a cook jerking off onto food, a close-up of a just-used toilet, a dead human hand inside a dissected frog, and oh, so much more. All drawn in a grotesque, deliberately distorted style. Conclusion: may make you want to claw your eyes out, but not porn.
Whew, after that last one, I can't continue. Someone hand over the brain bleach, please.
Speaking words of fandom: let it squee, let it squee.Curvy: Borderline, if not outright smut. Last time I read it, it had lots of acts of sexuality, but it was also really...weird...meaning it was mind screwy...I dunno about it, certainly not gonna read it to see if it gets better/worse.
Elle: Yeah, sounds like it's got nothing to hide.
Moon: Burn. It. With. Fire.
Nsfw: Like Oglaf, but way, way worse in terms of graphic content. Definitely intended to be more along the lines of grossout humor, though.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)I'll defend Curvy. It's got an interesting dimension hopping plot and can go for a fair number of strips without any thing but mild nudity. It's got graphic sex, but it also has far too much plot to be porn. I'd call it adult, but not porn. Current focus is actually a really interesting deconstruction of the Superhero genre.
As for the rest, Moon Over June has a non-pay site as well, but it's very much porn.
Don't know the others.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI do sometimes feel like some things are getting judged more harshly because they use a visual medium, which doesn't seem entirely fair. *shrug*
Moving on. Having previously said I wasn't particularly planning on defending several things that were mentioned, I decided I'd investigate Madou Souhei Kleinhasa. I figure somebody has to, and the genre doesn't have much left that can hurt me.
Conclusion based on the trial... don't know. Well, first thing it wanted to do was go fullscreen, which is a quick way to earn my ire. Once I figured out how to deal with *that*, I skimmed things. The demo's pretty short.
I'm not really sure how to quantify the amount of sex. There's a short scene, then there's a longer scene (but the first half duplicates the short scene), and then there's another pair of options that looks like they're both repeats of the ones I mentioned before. I can justify saying 4, 3, 2, or 1.5 depending on interpretation...
On the other hand, it also seemed to spend at least as much time on violence, and more than both put together on talk. So while I can't make any statements as to the quality of the plot (due to having no idea what it is), they do at least seem to be spending enough time on it for there to be one.
"So... the time has come for you to meet your demise..."@5979: yes, policy and works discussions will bleed into each other, but if it comes to it isn't that what the thumper is for? Coming from a frequent OTC-er, where new tangents are as a rule spun off into new threads instead of taking over and cohabiting with the original topic, having separate threads for general-works discussions, policy issues, and flagging reasons seems like a great idea.
This isn't really our choice.
Well, no, to a degree, it is, but Google has the final say, in a way.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelI'm sorry about the censorship, but I don't want them to take the whole site down!
This is a complicated situation.
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.Eh, it's nothing we can't handle.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Let's change the subject to voting on stuff on the list. Here's one I think can be easily cut.
Anne Haramix. First off, the page is a mis-spelled duplicate of Ane Haramix, which was already cut by FE originally when he cut everything in the Hentai index. Second off, it's just porn. Both the anime and original Visual Novel. It's right there in the title if you know Japanese. That is, it's Older Sister-Incest-Impregnation porn.
Basically, a female shinigami comes to kill the main character, but lets slip that if he gets a girl pregnant, his life span increases. So he has sex with and impregnates his sister, and then ends up having sex with and impregnating the shinigami.
Yeah, I've seen it. It's definitely porn.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Sorry. Imprudent.
Carry on.

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenBy the way, all of the Bondage Fairies pages have been cut, so that can be marked as done. Rance too, since the all the pages for the series and first 2 games are cut, and Sengoku and Quest are being judged on their own.
Whoa man, no need to jump the gun.
In other-words, I have found an something that could be flag-worthy. Ill open up the (Digital) cover and make sure before I add another work to the "Why the hell was this flagged" list.

Happens to be known as Walrus Jones in other circles.Okay, according to Something Awful's review of Nocturnal Illusion, one of the characters you have sex with is Little Red Riding Hood, who is thirteen in this game. Now, assuming that the reviewer's not bullshiting, this work is already going down for pedopandering. Coupled with that it apparently doesn't have much in the way of a plot beyond the sex, I'm definitely gonna give this a devilhead.

Verdict: Keep, clean, monitor
Pro:
Con:
That transformation dance, and the other not on Youtube are both incredibly skeevy, but since they are being played for laughs, they are more borderline than explicit.
Gurren Lagann, Garzeys Wing, Ikki Tousen to name a few.
