Cheeky litle sumbitch; just showing off.

Those things're loud

During earthquake drills last year, the Air Force simulated the earthquake happening.

By flying squads of F-16's through the whole city, at low height, full speed for 3 minutes.

Those things broke windows.

Half the neighborhood's dogs are going batshit.

The other half are going apeshit.

Good thing I no longer have a dog; he'd probably try hiding behind himself.

I had one fly over my neighborhood a while ago, he was above the cloud cover, sadly, he was doing an overflight for the US open.

Back in July 2001 a B-52 made a fairly low pass over my neighborhood. Even before I saw it I knew it wasn't just another airliner on final approach.

I think my home is right on a route or something, at about 10-11pm we have a flight of three mc-130's going over twice a week. My grandmother thought they were bombers for a long time [lol]

My country still uses WWII aircraft.

Every country has a lot of old planes from the war these days. Some are even Older Than They Think. Like the AC-130, for example.

Well yeah, but they still parade the things like they were the coolest thing ever. I think its amazing how they manage to actually keep them not only flying, but also serviceable.

On the bright side, you don't have a B-52 rumbling over. Those things are louder than no other.

When I'm back home I get UH-60's overhead all the time thanks to the Sikorsky plant being down the coast from me. Not many other boyscout groups get patches with Blackhawks on them.

Military fighter craft are loud? Huh. I never would have known that.

[up]Oh yes, very loud indeed. Once had a military helicopter fly very low over our neighborhood, and it was so loud I thought I'd hear it crash.

[up][up]It was a joke. I live under one of the flight lines of NAS Oceana. I'm somewhat familiar with how an aircraft sounds xD

My village has had the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight sweep over it on more than one occasion. cool

Piston engines are a hell of a lot nicer to listen to than jet engines, that's for sure.
