Vyc, the problem is that there's unlikely to be the same level of disagreement on what constitutes "people" or "ingredients." A better analogy would be a site taking down recipes that are bad for kids.
No one is saying "it is good for TV Tropes to cover porn/pedoshit"; very few people are saying "TV Tropes should cover porn/pedoshit"; the battles are over what is and is not porn and pedoshit.

I don't either. Other people are seeing them. Whether we don't or do is irrelevant at this point.
Was this site attractive?

Dude... dude.. you're giving TV Tropes WAY WAY WAY too much credit. There are hidden and illegal sites for that kind of shit man, this.. isn't one of them.

I had no problems with the site before either.
"Not attracting Pedos". What? What does that even mean I don't even...
In any case, if we're reducing the pedo stuff, then it's kind of obvious that we only remove things that have actual sexual interactions with children. Is that so hard? Give it to me straight where the dividing line is that's causing the confusion and I might find the right grey area where everyone agrees.
Token Loli!@508 - Apparently it was. I didn't think so before, and I didn't see why Something Awful were making such a big deal over there, but now that I've actually started looking for it, yeah, there was some pretty fucking horrible shit here. On the Bigger Is Better in Bed page, there was a pretty explicit description of how that worked in a lolicon/shotacon hentai. And the "work" was described using those exact words. The former "trope" of O Ring Orifice was referenced. You can fill in the blanks.
And that's just one example.

"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler. It seems to me this entire thing is fueled by paranoia. Google Images hosts more shit like that than TV Tropes does. Perhaps even worse... so...

That's actually quite humorous.
While it's just a Vocal Minority, it's annoying enough to complain about.

Full Battle Mode@Martello: Honestly, the difficulty in finding such things here on TV Tropes is hardly worth the trouble if one were to try it somewhere else...
If you turn off the safesearch on google image, you'll find it on accident, no trying needed. Now actually put in some effort.
Though, again, this seems to not be the issue any more as the Ones At the Top have already deemed it necessary to do something.

I don't know anymore.
Now it's more about opinions rather than funding.

It's his site. I for one will argue when I care and won't argue when I don't care. It's all I can do, and better than nothing.

The fact that people will go through all the trouble of making up an explicit description for that kind of thing.

Full Battle ModeWell, we are censoring porn and porn isn't "fucked up shit" or evil if it isn't pedo shit.
But it doesn't belong here. This is supposed to be a friendly family site, and while I doubt like hell that Debbie Does Dallas or Pirates XXX will turn anyone eighteen into a serial rapist or have a profoundly negative impact on them, I certainly respect their parents or guardians or peers concern in them being exposed to that type of explicit content. Hell if I was a parent, while I wouldn't throw a fit if I found a porn stash in my teenagers room, I would certainly sit him down for a talk and I would throw a fit if he wasn't even in his teens yet.
Tv Tropes isn't fucking Congress or the Supreme Court or a porn website. We don't have to worry about the First Amendment in our decision making.

I still say we link off to wikipedia in cases where they have an article on it.
