It's not Easter here yet, but the Saturday service will probably be less crowded, so that's when we're going.

Ah, Easter. That sacred day when we celebrate the birth of the Easter Bunny. May he rest in peace.

Easter has never meant much to me, but I know a lot of other families - religious or not - really enjoy it, so I wish everyone who does like Easter to have a good one.

Question. How does one relate "Jesus respawns" with "magical bunny gives us painted eggs"?

I kind of want to know how that egg thing came from.

The egg represents new life. The bunny represents the ever expanding hunger of capitalism. XD

Easter starts at 1:17

Although, in the comments, there was strangely enough, someone with a rather insightful comment.

"You could argue that the three parts of the one egg (yolk, white, shell) is like the Holy Trinity (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) being one. I actually read that in Medieval times, they used to not eat eggs over the Lenten season so they'd hard boil them and eat them on Easter, hence Easter eggs. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but it's an explanation."

Anyway, I'm away from home so I'm not getting to spend it with my family. Too many projects for school.

Eggs and rabbits are both symbols of new life. Eggs because chicks hatch from them, and rabbits because of what rabbits do best.

The Easter lunch was awesome this year. Lasagna, pasta with pepper and aspharagus, lamb chops, gratin vegetables, lamb roast, fried vegetables, polenta, crème caramel, and a silly amount of chocolate smile

My family isn't religious at all, but we still have an Easter dinner usually and my mom gives me and my brother a basket of candy, but since we're 18 and 23 that makes me feel both grateful and awkward.

Well, we went to church with my grandparents and brothers, then ate some chocolate eggs.

I pointed out the irony and got yelled at.

I fucking hate this holiday.

Yeah, speaking out against something at church doesn't tend to do one good, but this could just be my lack-of-faith-in-religion-in-general talking.
