My idea for shared avatars: "So-so shared [[avatar.jpeg this avatar]] to you. Would you like to add it to your gallery? Y/N" If the recipient hits Y but it goes over their paid page limit, it says so and doesn't add it, but the message can still be gotten to. If the recipient deletes one of their existing avatars and then goes back to the message and hits Y, it's added; ditto if they just buy the next page. If they hit N in either case, it isn't added and the message goes away.
The message being an automated PM would probably ideal for this, actually; it'd also make sure people don't suddenly find strange pictures in their galleries without any idea how they got there.
And now to catch up on the entire page full of ninjas.

Ponders too much; thinks too little. Currently goes by Knowlessman. We can turn off avatar sharing to prevent that. Those people need to be reported, obviously.

Quest 64 threadHoly crap; my text wall was actually still in context when I hit send.
The $5 for 40 sounds good.
So is this whole thing set in stone already?
And how would teens pay?
@Booky: They (we) don't have to. Just keep your current number of stored avatars at or under 40, and you don't have to pay. When you hit 40, just delete some to make room for new ones.
@Raidou: I do not see that working in most cases.
Probably a lot.
Hell, I'm twenty and I don't have a way (that I know of off the top of my head) that I could pay for this.

Ponders too much; thinks too little. Currently goes by Knowlessman....A lot of people would have difficulty with paying this, especially if they don't have their income. And I doubt parents would be that understanding.
'You want us to pay money...so you can keep little pictures that aren't even yours? Why don't you go outside and play sport like normal people?'
Arguments like that...yeah. I mean, it's not that big a deal to some of us, but others...well, there's always other options, yup. Still, if this is what has to be done, then...
Hope you weren't expecting anything witty here. Maybe some day.I'm still not too sure about the avi thing, since it'd be kinda alienating, but the $5 for 40 is alright.
Hey, if it makes Forum Games, Yack Fest, Roleplaying and so on a little less tempting to drop like the non-essential dead weight they are... :/

Ponders too much; thinks too little. Currently goes by Knowlessman.Ignoring anti R Pers snark I can live with a page of free avies and paying for all further icons. As long as it's 25 or more free I'm happy.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.@Morgan: Indeed.
One of the first things I plan to do when I finally get my online economy-stimulating faculties figured out is to buy some goddamn TVT merch and/or donate to my number one waste of time.
@Booky: That said, I post almost exclusively in FG and YF; I do not want to see either dropped, but that doesn't mean I won't acknowledge that they're not really related to the wiki's core purpose(s) or top priorities.
If there's one thing I refuse to lie to myself about, it's about what is and isn't a waste of time.

Ponders too much; thinks too little. Currently goes by Knowlessman.Well, yeah, we know it's not of much importance to the wiki. I mean, sure the roleplays have webpages as is.
Not a reason to make them look bad, though.
Quest 64 threadThis wiki is one of the things I would call a waste of time; I still love it, though, and I still feel bad about about not contributing more to it; besides, anything that you could call leisure or recreative you could call a waste of time; you could call literally anything a waste of time, if you were depressed enough or had an extreme enough mindset.
(Blame the Philosophy course I took last year.

And by extension, possibly deleting some images from the static server, starting with duplicates?
