Programming and surgery have a lot of things in common: Don't start removing colons until you know what you're doing.Deboss made the redirect to my troper page. I believe he's also the first poster to call me the Foxxy Mod. I consider it one of the highest compliments I've gotten here

I've also seen Eddie called variations of The Fast One.
Did we ever get word on if the Fast One was okay with expanding the number of smilies to those who pay?
One Piece blog Beyond the LampshadeDeboss lives up to his handle.
Also, off-topic but...
Since January 1, 2011 this article has brought 2,601 people to the wiki from non-search engine links.
Wow.

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI nominate Best At Teasing as Best Of's "official" redirect. EDIT: That was fast, someone made it before anyone could reply.
Back on topic, should we start brainstorming badges? I suppose for seasonal we should either try to hit international holidays only, or try to get as many English-speaking country's holidays as we can?
- Seasonal
- Summer Break - a squirt gun? blazing sun?
- Christmas - Christmas tree or wrapped present?
- Halloween - ghost? Scary tree? Jack-o-lantern?
- Harvest - pumpkin or corn?
- Easter - egg or bunny
- New Years - champagne or firework?
- Lunar New Year - Chinese dragon?

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Created.
I think Easter and the Lunar New Year should get their own badges too. Maybe an Easter egg/bunny for the former and a dragon/red envelope for the latter?
Don't forget IP workaholic.
One Piece blog Beyond the LampshadeI can understand the reluctance for a "long time member" badge, but... can anyone explain to me why that would be any different than seasonal badges that are only avalable for that season? Putting up "the first season I donated to the wiki" badge could show how long a person has been on the wiki.
As for "badges that can be purchased" ideas we could have:
- Donations (duh): Lampshades seem to be a popular idea
- Flags (suggested earlier)
- Seasonal (talked about a lot)
- Sectional (you can state that "I am usualy found in X part of the forums/wiki" with your badge choices). Ideas (Fairly obvious what they would be for):
- Wrench
- Book
- Game controller
- Dice
- Music note or time signiture or...
- The Kanji for Anime or Manga
- An old-style radio
- Globe
- A speach bubble
- Special
- I know I would not mind getting a "question mark" badge so that people know I am willing to answer questions or point them to where they should be asking those questions. Not official like a Harald, but still...
Did I miss anything? Well, if I did, we could start a new thread just for badge ideas after it has been finalized that this is something we want to do.
Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Halloween needs a Jack-O'-Lantern, just as Christmas needs a Christmas Tree. Both holidays should have more than one badge, though, I think. Easter and St. Patrick's could make do with one each.
I, uh, actually started on a pumpkin one already. Can't speak for quality, as I'm not even using any non-default palette colors, and I'm not sure what the size would be either; got one 30x30 and one 18x18.

We could also have:
- Image perfectionist (for IP contributors)
- Wicker (for people who do the worst grunt work that is wick cleanup)
- Trope Overdosed (for those who slave away at YKTTW)
I want to repeat my suggestion of making badges of flags. I sometimes look at totally random fora when they show up in Google search results, and I think flag badges (that I assume are paid for) are very common. I think they might work here, too. We just need to make enough flags available for purchase.
Ninja'd.

Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.Namespacer? For those of us poor souls that like namespacing and wick-moving.
If it's okay with everyone, I'll create another thread just about paid badges...
One Piece blog Beyond the LampshadeJust keep in mind, these badges will probably be around the size of the Herald badges, and those are tiny. You're not gonna get a whole lot of detail into them.
