Real life Experience Points

Imagine your favourite RPG that awards Experience Points, now imagine that real life awarded you experience points and could use them to level up, gain new skills/get better at old ones and collect feats/perks.

How would this change your life?

In this idea many things would get you XP For example brushing you teeth (1 xp) or something more extreme, like Bungee Jumping (1000 xp). Computer games do not award you XP for real life bonuses.

Sorry if this thread has been done before, I did a quick search but couldn't find anything

Perhaps some of them could be derived from altruism?

Bookyangel 2438: I dunno what I'd put my points into. How much would I get at a Level Up?

Depends what game you based in on, I original imagined fallout new vegas xp and level up system, but I'd say 5 points per level at least. Probably better to base it on real world skills though.

Libris Dedita:Perhaps some of them could be derived from altruism?

Good idea. I can imagine power gamers becoming 'nicer' people.

I would get all the levels. All of them.

And I'd put my points into whatever I felt insecure about at the time. If I think my art skills suck, I'd throw a couple points into Drawing, for example.

Stupid doomed timeline...

This reminds me of Chore Wars. I've played with it in the past, but then I just forgot about it...

I imagine that Real Life Experience Points would work as in a Skyrim-type system, in which I can only put XP in abilities I used while gaining the levels. Otherwise, I could get XP points by chopping wood and use them to become the world's greatest cake decorator tongue

But they seem to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.

I'd focus on leveling my Speech. I'd take all the perks too. I'd also invest in Intelligence.

I vowed, and so did you: Beyond this wall- we would make it through.

I'd level up my influence and manipulation abilities. Can always use more people skills. Maybe some business skills too.

Using Fallout's SPECIAL system, I'd dump loads of points into Intelligence and Luck. Can't really go wrong with that.

Int and Luck don't seem so bad.

Maybe some in Strength, Focus, and Speed?

Real Life works like Morrowind; you get skill points in things that you do.

As long as the level up system isn't like Oblivion. I don't want to have to stay awake for 3 days grinding somewhat useless skills because I accidentally increased my Athletics skill while walking around.
