"Your right, this kind of would be a waste of time," Sprocket said, as he tried to come up with a back up plan. Then it hit him. "So, instead of looking for them, lets bring them to us."

Sheriff headed down the street, leading the way. "Yeah, I guess I'm just a more alert guy..." he mused.

Paper gave him a surprised look, then reminded herself she shouldn't get too excited over what Sprocket said.

"And how are we going to do that? I thought we would just leave a note at the speakeasy for the first person to find... what do you have in mind?"

"No, pretty much that," Sprocket said, and then with a sly smile continued. "Or we could blow up some big building and draw in a lot of attention. But that is just a crazy idea."

"Oh." ...of course. Forget I asked.

"In that case, we'll leave a note. Also, we need to find another hotel or some other place we can stay in. Buy some more weapons we can hide in places. And check the hotels nearest the speakeasy in case anyone actually stays there. Oh, and find where the nearest police station is, I forgot to look for one yesterday. And whatever else you can think of." That should be enough, right? I can find more chores if you want.

"So... you know where to find knives, go there and buy some more; and whatever else that can be used as a weapon. The owner should know where the police station is, so that's covered. I'll leave the note and check the hotels. For now, let's decide what we should write."

Ace slammed her head on the table. The kiss was not satisfactory, but it would keep her quiet for now.

"I'm okay, I s'pose. I can't really do it in a building yet. I think I have to be right on the ground."

Flick silently follows both Sheriff and the conversation he's having with Glass. Last mentioned seemed to not be all that happy with what just happened. Then again, that's to be expected, espescially with Rock and Glass's... unique relation.

Ace is irritated.... She probably wanted a more fulfilling kiss or something. Hopefully someone else will deal with it.

Link composes himself, before he speaks trying to rally and push forward his will.

"Before we go call that girl, I ask do we actually want to go through with trying to rid ourselves of our contestant. If so we need to bribe someone to tell us where his room is. We can hardly break into every single room you know."

He pauses.

"In any case we'll need to ask what we can use to try to kill that guy, as convenient as a knife is something gives me a feeling she won't be too happy with one."

Flip nods. "Well, are we allowed to say... buy materials which with we can make a homemade explosive? Set it off in his room while he's in it.. if we do it right, it shouldn't even take down the building." Flip grins. "Or we could sneak in, ambush him when he returns.. catch him in the hall... Anything, REALLY. So many ways to do it."

As he followed Sheriff down the street, Rock did not seem to be put off in the least by the general suspicion that was being directed his way. No, he was actually looking happier than ever, insofar as that was possible.

When they were about halfway to the restaurant, he suddenly spoke up. "Oh! Right, I Forgot! It's Seems Like Ace's Group has Decided to Break your Little Truce, Sheriff! According to the Orchestrator, They Had a Fight against Someone Named Maus Yesterday!"

"I see..." Sheriff said. He nodded, contemplatively. Or maybe just in acknowledgement. Or something. "I don't think we should actively pursue them; if we see that group attacking someone or are attacked ourselves, we should defend ourselves. Maybe even kill, if it comes to that, if it's necessary."

Link looks at Flip again standing up.

She's sure enthusiastic. At least someone's buying into this.

"That's pretty much why we need to go ask the girl anyway. She wants a show, and no matter how demented I guess we'll give her one. Let's get going and bribe or lie our way to that guy's room number, then go bug that girl."

Maus buys some cheap, flashy jewelry, finds the speakeasy from the day before, and puts his letter on a table. He puts the jewelry on it to weigh it down and make sure it can be seen and then leaves quickly to return to his hotel for a quick nap.

To whom it may concern:

I am the youngest contestant in this game, and I have chosen to call myself Maus. This letter is a plea for help.

As you may have guessed, my trinket is related to mice. To be more specific, it is indeed a dead mouse. I accidentally squashed it yesterday while it was in my pocket, and my clothes were stained with its blood. Forgetting about this, I attempted to approach four other contestants for the purpose of making an alliance. All were teenagers. One of the boys is very tall, about six feet. The other is very thin and a bit sickly. One of the girls has one blue eye and one brown eye and is always smiling. The last one is short and childlike with dark hair. They will be henceforth referred to as Big, Skinny, Psycho, and Dirt, respectively, for the sake of convenience—you'll see why in a moment.

Before I could speak to them, Skinny screamed that I was about to kill them and called on them to kill me. Realizing that it would probably be a waste of time to negotiate with them, I tried to distract them and run. They chased me, but eventually, I was able to escape. I tried to explain that I had killed no one, and that it was only mouse blood, hoping that they would then reason that my distraction was self-defense and that I could be left alone, but no. They are irrational, possibly sociopathic, and I fear for my life.

If you are considering helping me, please note that I will not surrender my identity or target, but I won't ask you to do the same. If you do need to speak to me, stay here, because I will check this place periodically. I will only meet with one person at a time at this location until I'm convinced you're not just doing it to take advantage of the fact you know I might be here sometimes and ambush me.

I realize that these terms may sound ridiculous, but I'm a bit shaken, as you might expect. And consider this: given what I have just told you, what do you think will happen to you if they see you?

I'm not sure about the specifics of Big's power. He was able to deflect sharp metal projectiles with his bare skin and didn't seem to be going through much pain, if at all. Dirt can manipulate the earth. I witnessed her summoning pillars of it and making them fly. I don't know about Skinny and Psycho's powers, sorry.

Please spread the word that there are people willing to kill.

"Really?" Asked Rock. "I'm Surprised at you, Sheriff! From the Names She Gave me, it Seems it was Four-on-One! And Judging from the Fact that I know Everyone Else's name, 'Maus' must be that Little Boy! There's no Way He Could've Started the Fight under Those Circumstances, is There?" He shook his head.

"They Tried to Kill a Child, and You're just Going to Let The Get Away With It? Wow, I Thought you were Better Than That!" His words were somewhat undermined by his unfalteringly happy tone, which made them sound less like an appeal to morality and more like a statement of a particularly amusing fact.

"Though, That Aside, if Maus Survived that, He Must Have a very Powerful Ability! And who Knows what his Psychological State is like Now!"

"Oh, you're right!" Sheriff exclaimed. "Sorry, I didn't make that connection to Maus being the child. In that case..." he sighed for a second. "I think a K.O.S. protocol's best, then. We see a group of 4 people with tags, we take 'em out."

For a second, surprise showed openly on Rock's face, before his usual smile returned.

"That- That Would be Kill On Sight, I believe!" His usual happiness and enthusiasm were there, but there was a note of disbelief underneath them.

Oh my. He had been seriously underestimated Sheriff. Or maybe he had overestimating him. Either way, this was not a result Rock had ever expected a little nudge like that would bring.

Blue adjusted his position in his chair.

"Personally, we should go with the simplest and cleanest idea. Explosives are just too risky, since someone might hear—or the maid notices burn spots once we find a way to dispose of the body." He snapped his fingers. "We have to worry about that also. Optimally, we must do this in a way that nobody can connect his death with us.

"Still, we need to call that girl to see what methods of death are allowed. So that nobody spots us all together, we should split into duos, have one group call her, and the other watch out for any other players. Does that sound good?"

Link looks up.

"Though I agree with simplicity I really do question a need to dispose of the body well. I doubt that girl would want her little performance interrupted by the police. Still, if you really did want to get rid of it we could probably dissolve the whole thing in hydrochloric acid or something. It'd take a while, but we could just occupy his room in the meantime."

He pauses, and shifts his view toward Blue. I could show him up for planning, try to ruffle his feathers a bit... Ooh that would be fun, worse to worse I can do damage control using my power.

"Oh and we can get that at a hospital. They use the stuff diluted for treating stomach aches, though I don't pretend to know how that works. A bit of bribery and possibly forced greed and we'll have it."

He looks directly at Blue and shifts his voice, still unadulterated, to a less serious tone.

"You're not the only one capable of planning handsome."

This is going to be fun. Time to see how all of you react.

Work shirts, work jeans, leather work shoes, two extra suits, an extra pair of gloves, socks, some other odds and ends... that should do it. As Asimi headed out of the shop, his suit jacket hanging on his arm, he rather casually rolled up his sleeves, exposing his tattoos, and lit up a new cigarette. As expected, the response from passerby was less than enthusiastic. At least five had stopped to stare, which he completely ignored as he headed back to the hotel.

The clock tower he passed said 1 PM. Eh.

"Jack, you have debauched my sloth."

Link was joking at a time like this?

Well, considering what he suggested was quite morbid...

"It sounds messy, but if we can find it, we can try it. There aren't many ways we can dispose of a body anyways...unless we lead him outsides. But that isn't ideal, since there's a higher chance of witnesses. We might as well keep him locked inside his own room."

Blue took an extra look at Link. Something felt...off about him. Probably got to do with the pressures they were under. Blue was under pressure, but he kept it brushed away.

Blue stood up and walked toward the hotel room door. "Let's just make that phone call while we have the time."

Well that flew over his head. No reaction at all? Since when does a guy call another....

Link internal monologue blinks at the words that had just been spoken.

Oh, yeah, phone call. That.

"Ok we'll go out and call her. Also we're bribing the front desk for that guy's room now. Then it's shopping for some weapons hydrochloric acid and lock picks."

I wonder if I..... well you only live once right?

"All we need to do is add chocolate and roses to the list and it'll be a date."

Flick shook his head. "Four on four? I don't know about that, honestly. First and foremost, we don't even know their powers; going after them without at least knowing that is just plain suicidal. Second, if we do decide to go after them, it's far better to try and corner them when they're alone instead of going for a team match. It might not be sporting, but it's not like we can expect them to be sporting either anyways." He paused for a second, then continued, "Of course, that is taking we go after them at all... If we do decide to do that, we might to take some time to train our powers first. I don't know about you guys, but I don't really trust myself in battle yet."

"You make a good point, Flick." Sheriff said, "Perhaps we should plan, prepare, supply ourselves, stuff like that. Sure, I'm a big man, but I don't think I could handle a fight. Luring the other players off one by one might work, but they're no doubt extremely savvy towards something like that, it's just common sense. I just don't want people to die for unjust reasons, really. Protecting the boy named Maus would be a good thing to do, and punishing the attackers, since the police can't do much and I don't think we're allowed to go to the cops, is our job. Another good deed. Hence, we have our priorities."

He turned towards Flick. "I don't Suppose you'll be able to Track Him by Scent, Will You?"
