Has no idea for a game. Promises Karate lessons over skype as a reward.

DumboXenonauts has its funding page up
That game will get made anyway, but I'd like it if that would get funded. And if someone who is from Finland would donate 150 dollars to get that nationality in the game
Well, Starlight Inception managed to get funded by a narrow margin. Good for them.
Wonder if it had anything to do with The Spoony One R Ting it. Whatever it was, it got a huge spike at the last minute
.

Ok, so after Echoes of Eternia
, a jrpg that looks kind of like it was made with RPG maker, lots of JRPG projects have cropped up. But only one that has done REALLY well is Echoes of Eternia despite them all having low goals.
Like this
this and
this.
They all(well, ok L Egend of the Time Star has highest JRPG goal currently) aren't getting over 100% by much at least.
Speaking of which, 60 days rpg project that does have lower goal than Legend of the time star
, but less info and STILL looks like RPG maker project unlike Legend of Time Star that actually isn't RPG maker project. Though admittedly concept art is cool so maybe its temporary?*shrugs*
Anyway, I still don't expect it to succeed since Dark Meridian that IS cool project isn't getting much funding.
That might be because developers haven't in 30 days done much updates and such though :P
So anyway, new projects: Indie Console. Yeah, that isn't happening even if it gets funded :P
Haunts.
It looks interesting... Turn based game btw. Anyway, art style is cool.
There are other new project, but there are so many obscure kickstarter game project that I'll do it later when I feel like it.
So on old projects:
Ok, Spate
got more concept art and art now unlike before when it was just title screen. So yeah, looking cool, check it out.*likes gas masks*
Well, Deepworld isn't getting funding fast at least.
I wonder if Real Explorer seems too bland to people.
And about Gravitaz..
I guess people thought it to be rip off of another futuristic races :P
I was planning to post LOT more kickstarters, but there were so many new ones I hadn't noticed that I got lazy -_-;
And finally on Skyjacker...
First it only had pretty concept pics/photos, now it has alien pics. AWESOME ALIENS. FUND IT NOW JUST FOR SAKE OF GETTING MORE ALIENS! :D*likes aliens*
BTW, I know this doesn't have anything to do with videogames but the Pebble e-watch
just passed 10M. In other words, it made more money than possibly every project in this thread put together.
Damn.
Anyway, its time for listing obscure new projects that are, well, lowly funded because they are obscure or because they aren't that interesting.*shrugs* That or they do have nice bit of funding but haven't been mentioned yet.
Pathfinder.
They have nice inspirational speech about overcoming the impossible things they have been told is impossible, but I'm still kind of sceptical since online games are rather risky.
Kinetic Void.
Huh, I just realized that space sims are among genres that are rather common in kickstarter along adventure games, turn based games and jrpgs. Coincidence?
Edge of space.
Wow, I want this funded because those sprites(I love sprites) are awesome and so is concept art.
Speaking of rpgs...
Oddly remembers me of Earthbound. At least it doesn't look like rpg maker project.
Like I said, Space games are rather popular now.
Is that genre very niche or was there very successful space sim funding?
I think name is tentative because that is rather silly name.
Funding for Crysis mod involving dinosaurs? No wonder its not doing well.
Well, this is one of those games which lack concept photos.
Huh, rather ambitious project. Do you think it could do that even if it got funding?
9bitboss
, not much to say.
Huh
, come to think of it, there are at least four mon game type of kickstarters... I wonder why.
Well,
this is rather lazy rpg maker project from glance at least.
0 donations? They do have nice concept pics at least.
Hermes,
looks interesting concept art wise but not much donations sadly.
You
guys can tell me what the heck this is reminding me of?
Huh, Redux
looks interesting aesthetically and seriously, they are doing release for that sega dreamcast console?
And finally random mobile phone game that doesn't look interesting.
And now, commenting to old projects
Squad Wars isn't doing well anymore
, I guess people forgot about it in middle of other space sims.
Game by creators of Space Quest
is predictably doing rather well.
Xenonauts is also doing great.
Haunts is now officially first 60 days project that got over 5,000 dollars that I've seen :P
Which is good.
If republique gets 250,000 more in two days
, its funded.
BTW guys do you think that creating large walls of links will scare people off from checking them and thus not promote them?(or make them check out badly done projects out of interest?) Should I make them in smaller posts or is this fine?

All these sprite-based RP Gs, and none of them look appealing.
Those and 2D platforms are almost an instant turn-off for me. Mostly because the descriptions claim that their game is a special and unique butterfly due to some mechanic or other, and yet they all look samey and boring.
Earlier today I threw a sizable sum of money at a board game. I never really visit the tabletop section of Kickstarter, but there are a couple of interesting projects over there.
Thats marketing talk
If they say "We are just another [x] type of game" it wouldn't really make people want to invest.
Anyway, at least most of them have good original art/concept art even if most of them are rpg maker projects. But few ones that aren't look actually interesting game wise and not just concept pic wise.
My problem is something obviously gets lost in transition from concept art to the game engine. Maybe it's the realization that making a tile-based sprite game is much easier than having to do actual work, but it seems like for some of these projects they put all their effort into the concept and forgot to save some effort for the actual game.
That's what makes it hard for me to consider backing games that are pure concept art; it may look great and the dev might hype it up, but if you don't have any actual gameplay to show, how am I going to be sure I'm not giving someone money to quit their job and dick around for a few months in RPG Maker?
I think Panzer Pets is pretty cool because robots are ultra-rad.
I've wanted a team of robot buddies since I was a wee one.

Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianI'm later going to do post about games I want to be funded but for now I'll post one project I didn't notice before.
Its sixty days one again
, dunno if it will make it.
Also, interesting update if you ask me.

SpaceVenture
: From the creators of Space Quest.
On a semi related note, I wonder what Kickstarter itself will do with the record profits they had this year? Hopefully they will invest in a platform that doesn't rely on Amazon Payments.
