Because we have over 100 posts in the signup thread, I think it's time to create this thread.

Not much to say beyond that. Well, I suppose I should mention that I thought of another rule of the planesmiths. Do not steal Plane Cards, blank or otherwise.

Let the discussion begin.

Hnn... here's a question. Since she's one of the originals, wouldn't Cula have gone through more than five planes in her time? So... umm... what happened to the others? Destroyed? Or, given the nature of her worlds, just cut off from everything and left to rot, shoved to the back of her memory due to being inappropriate*

?

Well, first-post awkwardness gone.

Okay, the first thing I should explain is that it's much easier to delete a plane then to create a Plane Card, and most planesmiths don't want to have too many cards anyway because it makes deciding which form to take for certain situations hard.

The primary reason most planesmiths have so few planes is mostly boredom. Usually, they will get bored with a plane sooner or later, and because they don't want to waste Plane Cards, they'll usually delete the plane.

The second reason is that there are a lot of untrustworthy planesmiths, so having too many planes makes it easy for others to steal your Plane Cards or mess around with your planes.

Finally, the more planes one has, the more forms they have, and therefore if a planesmith has too many planes, they'll be incredibly powerful. To prevent anyone getting too much power, the planesmiths decided to limit the number of planes one can have.

Given that Cula's an isolationist who's got everything under lock and key, wouldn't it make sense for her to ignore that rule and just keep them where they can never be found? It's all Eldritch Abomination stuff, though, nothing she would (or I, for that matter) want to use.

... Hell, the desire to impose a limit on people might have contributed to her going 'to hell with you lot'. <.<

Edit: And now this is invalid. To make up for it, I shall instead replace this post with a request for an unofficial currency, such that a Planesmith could buy services from others—maybe one is particularly good at designing Planes, or something.

You know what I hate? Hypocrites. That and obscure self-referential statements.

[up][up]Well, I suppose you're right.

[up]Yes, there is a currency like that.

In a way, given the lack of apparent mortality, this is a sort of ageing process. Take one person, steadily remove their inclination to partake in wider society, and eventually make an utterly impenetrable entranceway and just hang around in worlds geared entirely for their tastes. Heh.

Would you mind slowing down for people in different timezones? I'm not, but there's some people in the RP who are and it's not pleasant if the RP gains a page while they're asleep.

Gonna see if I can't post today, but I'll have to at least skim everything first.

...Have people just given up on the RP?

Okay, so I think this RP has been abandoned. I'm sorry that it wasn't what was promised, and most of all, it's my fault that the RP died. I didn't really explain enough, so a lot of people didn't really understand what it was going to be like. Mostly, though, the problem was that I dreamed too big. In the hands of a more experienced person, this premise could have become something great, but the simple fact was that I am still new at this, and I should have started out smaller, with a more normal premise.

I may try relaunching Planesmiths sometime, when I have more experience and I have a better idea of what the whole RP will be like, but for now I'm giving up on it. I'd just like to thank everyone who gave it a try.

Finally, if anyone is up for taking over, then there may be a chance to save this. Just let me know, and preferably link me to any RPs that you've been in charge of. I hope that someday, the Planesmiths RP will be what I hoped it would be.
