Asta totally could. That's why he's gonna be the next Wizard King of the Pirates!

Likewise, I have no idea how Iruka took a Fuuma Shuriken to the back and didn't end up paralyzed.
Oh, I'm sure, but that moment's been on my mind since the very beginning of Naruto. Like, I was half-expecting Iruka to come rolling out in a wheelchair the next time we see him.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarLike, if you're going to treat someone that houses an ancient spirit of destruction like shit even though the person in question doesn't know better, then I'd say you and your village should get what's coming to them.
I think that's the least grievous injury someone's bounced back from in this series.

@ Lennik: Very true, though I still believe that enough wasn't done to inform the Leaf villagers, which could've mitigated some of the hardships Naruto faced as he grew up (and, judging by Dark Naruto, he's got quite a bit of baggage). You'd think that they'd be told more than simply "this kid has the Nine-Tailed Fox sealed within him", and that fault unfortunately lies with the Third.
Hey, some people are bad at putting two and two together. That said, part of what makes this look worse for Konoha is that—I'm presuming—while Naruto = Fourth's son was intended from the start, a lot of the other details (Jiraiya being his godfather, Kushina, the details surrounding the sealing, etc.) were added in as Kishimoto went along. (Don't quote me on that, though.) As you say, it should've been painfully obvious who Naruto's parents were.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarFiguring out who Naruto's parents were should not have been hard. He has features of both his mother and father, it was no secret that Kushina was pregnant, and he was born on the same day they both died.
And for the life of me I don't see the value in keeping his parentage a secret, as it clearly was.

Have a good night, everybody. I'll see y'all next week. :)

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarThoughts this week...
- Dragon Ball Super - This was a pretty good episode, seeing all the past villains and how Krillin got his ass kicked by them... and then Bulma shows up for some reason... because Captain Ginyu body-swapped with her that one time, I guess?
- Attack on Titan
- So good to have this show back, though I didn't expect to start with some Black Comedy with Eren's Titan form. Just from this episode, it feels like this season will be more "Song of Ice and Fire-ish" than the previous seasons, which is fine by me as long as things don't get too slow and we still get some awesome fights.
- Also, the new opening by X Japan sounds beautiful.
- Diamond is Unbreakable
- I'm not surprised in the least about this show starting off with animal abuse, though at least Josuke was there to heal the poor turtle right back up, which was real sweet and way more than most other animals get on this show.
- I don't know how it compares to the Japanese, but the english dub by itself sounds pretty good so far. Billy Kametz does both the Adorkable and The Berserker parts of Josuke really well.
- One-Punch Man - The Mosquito Girl fight has some of the best animation I've seen in any action show ever. One of the reasons I love One-Punch Man is because, while it's meant to be a parody of both superhero and shonen action shows, it works really well as an actual example of both those genres.
I don't trust Snowflame: Zuko Edition's father.
Also I would kill for Little Witch Academia to be on Toonami.
This song needs more love.

Amusingly the whole roles reversed thing is a bit impossible because Naruto doesn't possess Lighting Release so he can't use the Chidori.
Ya can't learn something you can't do after all.
Though that's a major what-if really.
