Sheep Girl, I find your odd calm strangely endearing.
@ Lennik: Like you say, Araki's been unclear on the exact relationship between Stands and Hamon, though Eyes of Heaven has Joseph tell (paraphrased) one of the Pillar Men—Esidisi, I believe—Stands are "Spirit Hamon."
That said, I'd imagine Joseph apparently not keeping up much with his Hamon training after Part 2 in part accounts for Hermit Purple being "weak," seeing as Joseph can run Hamon through it.

Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!@ blue: Call him "Not-Quite-Perfect Cell."
I'm sorry guys, that arm cutting scene was unintentionally funny to me. This is the wrong kind of serious business for me.
@Demetrios I feel as if this arc was written without much care about him in mind, at times. Like, he feels more like a supporting character in this arc than he ever did in any other.

It's funny that Dio says Hermit Purple is weak, but isn't it just the Stand's manifestation of Hamon, which is pretty powerful?
I'm always a little fuzzy on the relationship between Hamon and the Hermit Purple-type Stands. I think Araki mentioned Hamon would look like a wire wrapped around the body, which is why Joseph has Hermit Purple.
