We can say that Shippuden shoehorned a lot of things in (and really, it did), but the Naruto-Sasuke "bromance" is an element that isn't terribly congruous (or congruous at all) with the first half or even within Shippuden itself. Compare this to, say, expanding upon Hinata's history with Naruto prior to their academy days.
As much as I'd like to stick around for more of Dandy's dandy misadventures, I should be calling it a night. I most likely won't have computer access this time next week, so I'll see you all the following week.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarIndeed twas a good night yawl.
See ya next week for the finale of FLCL (hope it sticks the landing) & the continuation of Pop Team Epic on the block.
Well I hope I can watch it. I'm going to Mexico, Cancun I think with my family for vacation & I'm not sure if the hotel TV carries CN.
So just in case, see you all next week & if not next, next week.
And on that note, it's time for me to finally call it a much-needed night. Have a good night, fellow Toonami fans. I'll see y'all next week! :)
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!Basically, the thing about the final Naruto arc (starting at the Five Kage summit and continuing to the end of the series) is twofold. The one we're going through now is a result of the "lost arc" - basically, originally the plan was for there to be a mission arc in between the Land of Waves and the Chunin Exams which would have probably been an excellent way to flesh out the relationships between many of the characters (but was abandoned to speed up the road to the Chunin Exams).
That would have probably have strengthened the groundwork for the Naruto/Sasuke relationship and might have even given an opportunity for developing the Sasuke/Sakura stuff (I contend that had Sasuke visibly reciprocated before leaving the village Sakura wouldn't come off as such a... a Sakura, basically). Not having enough of that groundwork is, as can be easily seen, a serious problem down the line.
The other major problem, the one we're going to run into as the arc goes on, is that the threat is entirely exogenous to all the politics going on. Tobi declares war on basically the entire world, uniting them, instead of exploiting their divisions. This basically solves the vast majority of the world's real, serious problems in one stroke. War has basically been the start of darkness for every single villain in the series in one way or another, and the show misses the chance to address that.
Throw on top that having the threat be a giant pile of zombie kage and zetsu, and you double the amount of characters you have to introduce in the arc, which was already quite a big amount, compared to if it had been, say, the Sand and Leaf Villages vs. the other three in a war masterminded by Tobi to take advantage of the divisions between them.
I think if these two changes had been made you'd have solved a lot of the issues that really started to crop up in the war arc.
(speaking as a guy who's still a Naruto fan).

It’s a damn shame how the series turned out, a true damn shame.

Guess they got the resources.
Again pedophile incest freak scored high in the polls meaning he’s popular sadly. Prepare yourself because you are gonna see a lot of nosebleeds, obsessing over his sister, & maybe a line where he outright says thinking about his little sister gives him a special feeling “down there”, ugggh indeed. "I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Are we going to get an episode where Vanessa gets her Day in the Limelight? I'd like to see that. :)
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!Lucky for you yes there is an arc where she takes center stage, Hell even saves the day completely in an admitably cool climax.
Unluckily though it’s a bit too far down the line that the current season might not reach it so expect to see it in season 2.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Now I'm curious, what level of "Growing the Beard"? Like "It's actually good" level or "It's not complete shite" level?
This song needs more love.
The latter.
Like character development is still nonexistent or done so poorly you roll your eyes in irritation, characters are still one-dimensional as all Hell especially the annoying asshole nobles, & arcs are less arcs but excuse plots so to have constant nigh-unending 20 chapter fight scenes.
...... But it’s not as Godawful I think. It shoots its way up to low-tier decent/mediocre I guess.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Diamond is Unbreakable just got announced at Anime Expo. It will be added to the block in August, replacing Stardust Crusaders.
They seem aware of it too considering they stuck it at the back of the timeslot first chance they got.
I guess the only reason its on the block in the first place is because it was a gift from Funimation.
Why put a pedo imouto on the protag's side in the first place? Ask the deranged author.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."

Here's the thing, the whole best friend bit only came in Shippuden.
In the original series they were to my recollection never portrayed as that close.
Naruto's just wanted to help a comrade even an asshole one in danger not his best-est friend in the whole wide world.
