This show is confusing revenge with how criminals are supposed to be arrested & tried.
Its fucking disgusted.
Like if Sasuke raped a Cloud woman should they not prosecute him?
Even then only a literal handful of people actually cares about Sasuke.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."For all they know, Sasuke killed the family member of a political leader. No matter how you slice it, that's a punishable offense. It's not like the Raikage wants him dead for stealing his cakes or something, the Cloud village has every right to want Sasuke dead.

I dunno. If Sasuke stole some 40 cakes or so, we might have a problem on our hands. I mean, that's as many as four tens, And That's Terrible.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarThe lone samurai amidst a sea of squabbling ninjas (and Gaara).
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarYa know all this ninja politic talk would be so much more interesting if it wasn't in one of the most immaturely & childishly written stories in all of creation.
Like seriously Tsuchikage's justification for hiring mercenaries, especially the Akatsuki is absolutely fascinating but any excitement or interest is rendered absolutely null once one remembers the retarded Sasuke dick-sucking by Naruto only 10 minutes before & the fact this very grey piece of information never actually goes anywhere since its never brought up again.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."@ Rynnec: And even then, sometimes you have to acknowledge when your bro has fucked up. And Sasuke has massively fucked up on several different levels. (And he's only going to get worse as time goes on, sadly.)
I feel like if Naruto would acknowledge the fact that a lot of people have good reason to go after Sasuke given his actions up to this point instead of just going "... But he's my friend!", the reaction wouldn't be so negative. At least then he could also pull the "I'll try to redeem him as best I can, but if that doesn't work, I have to be the one to put Sasuke down and break the chain of hatred" card so that he's not (completely) abandoning his principles.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarCareful, Beary. You might get burned.
And now, ladies and gents, Japanese Daft Punk.
All right, that's my cue. See you all later.
The only downside is that, like most characters in this show, we'll never know what happened to Maker.

Sounds like a big day indeed. Congrats!

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarI had better be calling it a night now. I feel so tired it's starting to feel weird. x_x Have a good night, everybody. :)
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered! In fairness to Naruto:
- Just the previous arc he had forgiven a guy who had wrecked his entire village, so it's not like he's being a hypocrite here. Like, yeah, Nagato brought them all back, but Naruto didn't know he could do that when he forgave him.
- It's not like the Cloud Village weren't dicks either, including IIRC trying to kidnap Hinata (they definitely tried to kidnap someone in the Leaf Village and Neji's dad ended up having to die because of it).
Like, I do also find it annoying, (this period of time is definitely the most irritating it gets, and it's mostly because Naruto doesn't take a firm enough stand with Sasuke in terms of calling him out) but I do think that the actual "let's redeem this person" is more or less in line with the series's philosophy, and isn't necessarily just Naruto being irrational.
In addition, prior to attacking Killer Bee, Sasuke was not particularly unpopular in the Hidden Leaf village - sure, he had gone rogue, but then he proceeded to kill three extremely dangerous enemies of the village and basically no one else. We have reason to believe that had Sasuke returned to the village after that he might have very well been accepted back. The Leaf villagers aren't party to seeing Sasuke be a smug asshole all the time like we are.
@Slimcoder: That Onoki stooped to hiring the Akatsuki is actually really important for his mini-character arc that he goes through.

"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"So I know I missed the big fireworks last night, but I wanted to throw my 2 Cents in about IBO's ending. I've always been kind of conflicted with the ending to the series but I actually don't have a problem with it on paper. It was always the execution.
Rustal being a Karma Houdini actually doesn't bother me. Like legit, both sides were already guilty of committing war crimes, so there wasn't really much of a "morally superior" side from a distance. What I take issue with is I felt like the writer wanted to have it both ways with Rustal being a ruthless asshole while at the same time suddenly progressive and forward thinking when he actually does become the leader. The ending tried to cram too much stuff to wrap up the series and as a result, just because of how much Rustal was out of focus, you have to infer way more about his character than the plot failed to properly establish.
I really think Rustal should have been in the first season, albeit more as a background character. Establish him in the first season as more of a middle ground guy to balance out Mc Gillis wanting radical progress and the old traditionalist. At least then, when he becomes the Big Bad of Season 2, it's more believable that he's more of a Punch-Clock Villain.
The Raikage ordered the kidnapping of the daughter of an important clan head under a flag of truce, and Konoha bit the bullet and not only did not seek revenge, but sacrificed one of their own for the sake of peace. Now they want to call in that debt, and the Raikage isn't willing because his brother was attacked? The only hypocrite here is the Raikage, a point which is only more pronounced because the guy asking this favor is the son of another girl the Cloud tried to kidnap, yet he is not seeking revenge against them. You demand justice for your brother? Konoha demands justice for Hizashi Hyuga! You really sure you want to play this game?

Yeah, I'm not really sure why Naruto thinks most people in the leaf would care about Sasuke being killed. Certainly not enough to go to war with the Cloud or take revenge for him.
