But that's not the problem. The protagonists can die and still take Rustal with them. Even Julietta realizing just who Rustal really is and either killing him or leaving him to die would be an improvement. Heavy casualties were to be expected, and Tekkaden are no angels, but we still expect the villains to get what's coming to them.

Which makes it impossible for me to ever rewatch a series, or look back fondly on it.
Even Evangelion's ending is actually an optimistic one where the bad guys are ultimately proven wrong. It can be cloaked in darkness and still have the hero triumph.

That's right, boys. Mondo cool.Tekkadan lost solely because the writers turned Mc Gillis into an absolute moron.
That's why I can never buy it & accept it. Its fucking ridiculous.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."@ Lionheart: "I'M NOT DONE YET!"
@ Yakuzu: A prime example of a Family-Unfriendly Aesop, but it's the truth.
Unless I missed something, this is last week's episode, right?
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarOkay, that was funny. :)
"Or just run away."
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!Because it's ANTI-MAGIC Enlong, duh! That's far better than that stupid old magic those dumb nobles use to oppress the masses! With Anti-Magic, Asta can finally bring those nobles down and all the people can swear allegiance to their new Anti-Magic Wizard King!

Sounds kind of opposite.
Come on! Let's bless them all until we get fershnickered!

If only that line was applicable to Black Clover...
