Leonardo Davinci escaping a church being raided by MI 6 in a swamp boat-turned airplane.

What a situation.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the reincarnation of Leonardo Davinci in a Layton game.

If my memory serves, next time on Lupin, it involves Lupin and Nix going up against an assassin who hunts M16 agents.

Wait! Now I remember! This list of M16 agents stolen and Nix and Lupin go after it!

If da Vinci is an ally of the Assassins, are MI 6 the Templars?

Well, they did basically use the Animus to reincarnate Davinci.

[up] Well it has been years & besides I'm pretty sure all of use just remember Zabuza & Haku.

God this show sucks. Motherfucker please Pierrot make us a Naruto Kai or something.

The franchise is big enough to warrant a faithful remake.

@ Beary: It's kind of hilariously bad when you put it that way, considering that was the first main arc of the entire series.

It is an extremely iconic arc.

To the point where whenever any upstart shonen begins people will always call the arc where it grows the beard as its own Zabuza Arc.

No, I get that, but when we have to say that the first main arc of the show from way back in its infancy is "admittedly good" in retrospect, I think that speaks volumes about how much the show fell off at whatever point of the series you felt it fell off at.

It's because we've taken the filler time machine back to the golden days, obviously. tongue

And, of course, the slick new ED with some nicely animated fights and pleasant music gets cut short. But why would I have ever expected anything different?

@X 2 X: Oh jeez, you're right. D:

What about the arc with the Chunin exams?

I... kind of only saw the Zabuza arc when Naruto was first airing. I lost track of it after that, probably due to scheduling conflicts.

[up] The Chunin Exams were good, as were everything after up to and including the Sasuke Retrieval Arc. (I think we can all generally agree on that, right?)

Then came the mass filler hell, so I'm disregarding that.

Shippuden started strong too, and was pretty consistent overall despite a few bumps, but it's the post-Pain stuff that's where things start to get shaky in terms of quality. It's on more of a fan-by-fan basis, though. Some think the Fourth Shinobi World War is where the decline immediately started, others think it was still decent at that point but became more and more bogged down by the Madara situation, and then there's all the stuff at the end with the Ten Tails and Kaguya, never mind how the last few chapters have to quickly wrap up the brunt of what's left.

@X: "Started strong" is debatable since the pacing was slow as malasses for the first 2 arcs, it wasn't until the Hidan and Kakuzu arc that things picked up, but compared to the hell we're in now, that level of pacing would be preferable.
