Damn it. Blueford just got the Android 16 treatment. Not cool, man. Not cool.
I know that Stands are what most people equate to JoJo (and they are pretty cool), but why again did Hamon get phased out again, considering all of the incredible feats it's capable of?

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarSailing away from danger on a hang glider made of dead leaves is a perfect time for a flashback, right?
I'd like to be the first man on the moon.@X 2 X: Aside from Araki not having much ideas for it anymore, He didn't want his series to be seen as a complete ripoff of Fist Of The North Star.
Watch Symphogear@ Enlong: I'm half-expecting someone to use "Dastard!" in this dub, and that would be amazing.
@ Maestro: Of course it is! When else are you going to get such riveting exposition in 19th century England?
@ Demongod: ... Fair enough. Ken could do all sorts of superhuman feats with Hokuto no Ken in addition to making bodies explode into fleshy confetti, and Hamon shares a lot of the same concepts, so I can understand why Araki wanted to play it safe.

Don't overlook how Baron's master was named after Tom Petty?!

I think Jonathan more or less ran his course as a lead as well. I love the guy but, especially for a long runner, there was not a lot of mileage you can get out of "Righteous Gentlemen" as a lead.
The best thing about Jonathan is how he and Dio played off of each other as adversaries so once that story ended, I don't see much else that could have been done with him.

Though luckily, Stands would go on to influence how Oversoul looks in Shaman King and how the spirit powers of Bleach works, so...

Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!Yu Yu Hakusho is much more Dragon Ball influenced then Jojo. The way the after lif elooks is proof of that.
If anything, Saint Seiya is just as influential. Even Super Saiyans' were influenced by the gold Cloth power from Saint Seiya.
Watch SymphogearWhich was sadly confined to about 3 seconds of filler in the Other World Tournament. Until Super came along, that is.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStar@X 2 X Not surprising, considering there was always the danger of exploding if you drew out too much power with it. It was noted that spirit bodies are much more durable than mortal bodies, so it makes sense that it required unlocking SSG to withstand such power in a living body, whereas a spirit body could withstand it by virtue of the durability inherent to the soul.
