We go from Leorio being a mad horndog to this feelsfest. What a ride.
@ Yakuzu: Was Hazama's death here more or less anticlimactic than in Chronophantasma?
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStar@ Beary: The opportunity was too good for Lennik to pass it up.
Also, was "Dreamy Jin" your Leorio moment?
Aww, they're buddies now!
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarBy all rights, I should hate this ending. I’ve always thought it’s a colossal copout that both Mugen and Jin would survive, especially after Jin’s last move is so heavily implied to be fatal to the user.
But, darn it, I’m just too happy and relieved to feel any anger. Anybody else like that?
I'd like to be the first man on the moon.Anyone want to swap some Fanfic Fuel about what happened to the trio after the end of Champloo?
Do not obey in advance.@ Beary: Here's my take.
Mugen is fated to perpetually reincarnate in most of the works Shinichiro Watanabe is involved with, as indicated by the infinity symbol he paints on Hiroshima Castle. Sometimes he dies, sometimes he's just a deadbeat father. Jin fades into history, but his genetic template is preserved and used to create a certain beastkin who fights in the Dark War. Fuu... pigs out.
Note that this doesn't contradict Yakuzu's accepted headcanon. (
)
@ Yakuzu & Maestro: It's the soundtrack, I'm telling ya. The music is incredibly chill and feel-good, so much so that, along with the trio having a surprisingly hopeful ending, you don't care about all the things you'd normally critique.
(Fun fact: The ED for the last episode is "San Francisco," continuing the Anachronism Stew that Samurai Champloo thrives in.)
@ slim: What about that guy who drew a nude painting of Fuu early on? Or is he dead? I can't remember.
@ Great: If anything like Too Many Cooks is ever aired on Toonami, I'm noping the hell out of here.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarYou know, it's kinda nice seeing Kimimaro again. He's Fated Family, but, like Tobirama, without all the bullshit that entails.
