Heads up, starting June 4th Toonami is going to be airing a half hour earlier. So DBZ is at 11:30, Gundam at 12, etc.
You're just in time. Bayble Cuber's going to watch an inkle dribble adventure from days of old on my holo-pyramid viewer.Yay! That actually makes it a lot easier for me to watch Toonami as it airs.

Quite fitting how the promo for the first Gundam show on the [adult swim] version of Toonami is meaningfully echoing the promo of the first Gundam show that was seen on the original version of Toonami, isn't it?
For the sake of comparison:
EDIT: Ok, apparently CabooseJr got rid of the IBO promo. But trust me, it's very similar to the promo for Gundam Wing.

Memorial Day Weekend Samurai Champloo marathon is on now, just in case anyone forgot.
HOLY ZEN, WE'VE GOT THE FULL OP! THANK YOU, KAMI-SAMA!
The IBO promo probably won't be (re)uploaded for some time, but here's the SamChamp OP for posterity's sake.
Leading off with the "I WANT MY NOOKIE!" episode is always a strong start.
The Iron-Blooded Orphans promo is on right now.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarAh, the good ol' days of the original Toonami run, though by that time, the block had been moved to Saturday evening/night.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarBobobo would certainly be better appreciated among an older demographic, given that the show was so many different kinds of weird you kinda had to be stoned or off your gourd to fully enjoy it.
The OP was catchy as all get out, too.
So, I just realized the teaser music before Champloo is the same one used for Rurouni Kenshin when it aired on Toonami. And it fits so well. (It helps that Jin is Saito.)

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStar... Y'know... I'm not sure we'd ever get anything on the level of the soundtrack for Samurai Champloo nowadays. It's such a shame that the artist that did the OP and ED died some years ago.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Actually, there are a lot of artists in the chillhop scene that were either contemporaries of Nujabes or influenced by his works. (Uyama Hiroto, for example, was a frequent collaborator of Nujabes and I'd say his sounds are probably some of the closest ones to Nujabes' out there.) That said, it's hard to imagine that anyone could (re)produce the same kind of ambience Nujabes, Tsutchie, Fat Jon, and Force of Nature combined to bring to Samurai Champloo. The soundtrack is pretty much lightning in a bottle.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarIt's mostly even in terms of focus between them, I'd say.
Such a beautiful ED. I honestly think I like it more than the regular one, both by its own merits and given the context of the respective episode.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarSorry, Toonami crew, but if you were gonna pick something from Death Cab For Cutie, you should've picked a better song.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Seeing as we're back at last week's episode, now's a good time for me to sign off. I'll see you all next week.

IBO is supposed to air the first weekend in June (at 12:30 AM on the night of Saturday the 4th/morning of Sunday the 5th), not this coming weekend.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.
