I'd imagine that the type of anime we saw in the period between the mid-to-late 1980s and early 2000s exist in a now-bygone age. Doesn't mean that modern anime is bad, like Rynnec said, but we're not likely to see shows with the same kind of grit as Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop, The Big O, etc. any time soon, if at all.
Welp, I'm out. Goodnight everybody!

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStar^Now now, is there really need to be mean?
Adding to "different age" that it doesn't mean its better is redundant when the statement was "it was different" without commenting for good or bad
Anyhoo, I have no clue what the actual conversation is, but I don't see that as reason to avoid dropping in to comment on crap
I only found out a few days ago Outlaw Star came back. If you can't tell by my name, it's probably my favorite piece of media.
I damn near cried when I found out it was coming back to TV. I had really hoped it would when Funimation released the HD Blu Ray set. Reading the reactions of people new to the anime makes me smile (all the references to Starlord, Major Makoto, and misspelling Gene's name as Jin). I don't have a means of watching it on TV, but I can watch the Toonami stream at least.
I'm so thankful that Toonami's giving Outlaw Star time in the spotlight once more. It deserves to be remembered with other classic anime like Bebop and Trigun.

It's a 90's anime.
Its perfectly fine to point out how the quality isn't as good as most modern anime are.
Watch SymphogearOh man, Star's here?
How long as it been since I've seen you around the forums? Sorry to hear that you won't be able to catch Outlaw Star live per se, but enjoy the ride nonetheless.
Of all the shows I'd expect to avert Sci-Fi Writers Have No Sense of Scale, Dragon Ball wasn't one of them. It's kind of nice.
