My only regret, is that I was not following the manga when this chapter came out. Cuz damn, I can only imagine the meltdown lol.
In fact, this chapter was the first time I had heard about Naruto in years and I was like "She confessed? Bullshit" and then I saw the page and I legit thought it was photoshopped.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Oh yeah. People were losing their minds every which way when Hinata confessed.
And then the animation team—being massive Naruto/Hinata shippers—said to themselves, "Why not give her a better showing in the anime?"
Apparently they blew the budget, judging by next week's episode.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarVery true (same goes for Six-Tailed!Naruto and above), but I feel like the Looney Tunes-like QUALITY pretty much overshadowed all of that.
Welp, I'm out. Have to wake up in about four hours because Toonami comes before a good night's sleep, so I'm hitting the dusty trail.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarQUALITY. That is the only word sufficient enough to describe it.

Do not obey in advance.Good night, everyone. Good viewing. Sleep well. I'll most likely kill you in the morning.
Those who were using cable, mainly through Direct TV, experienced a video glitch on Cartoon Network only that lasted for a few hours, and ended around Hunter X Hunter.
Le sigh, they did not blow any budget. In fact, if anything, the budget is even higher next episode, despite the art.
the more fluid the animation is in Anime, the higher the overall animation quality in general it is.
The Pain vs Kyuubi Naruto fight is the same style done in this clip of Birdy the Mighty Decode

Watch SymphogearI know, I know. I was just making a joke to "explain" how we get to that point from last night's episode.
Just saying that its a joke made out of ignorance on how animation actually works (The Canipa effect Can explain it better then I can).
Its the same problem that people have with the people that say the Pokemon Sun and Moon anime looks worse then previous series when its actually the opposite.
Watch SymphogearThat's a bit presumptuous, I have to say. I read up on that a while ago, so, yes, I do understand how fluid the animation style chosen for that fight is and what the animators were aiming for.
That said, even if it's (objectively) high quality, that doesn't change the fact that a lot of people, including several of us in this thread, thought there was something odd about how the episode was animated and—more importantly—how it's perceived by our eyes. (It's the same thing with the change in art styles from X/Y to Sun/Moon since you brought up Pokémon.) Do you think it's coincidence that Pain's big moment is the uncontested page image for the show's Narm page here?
I understand wanting to clear up misconceptions, but really, it's not something you need to get so unnecessarily worked up about.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarToonami is officially starting at 11pm again this Saturday.
It's also getting another half hour readded to a block, though it'lll be another rerun slot.

Like Prime and I said last week (or maybe the week before), Naruto actually does a lot of things well outside of its bungling of several (but not all) romantic developments.
