@ Enlong: The first episode skips around a bit for the sake of exposition, presumably to get those unfamiliar with the timeline kinda-sorta up to speed. Like Rojixus says, it doesn't really cover a lot of ground.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarAh, Fin Funnels, how I missed you so.
And now, the real MVP of tonight's episode, the unnamed Stark Jegan pilot! Welp, that was a bit more underwhelming than I remembered.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarAttack drones, Shoulders of Doom that double as engines, and a laser sword.
I have a message from another time...Wait, is that Rachel Lillis? I haven't heard her voice in anything for years.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.@ Yakuzu: That'd be the one. She's also Cocco, the commentator for Heavens Arena in HXH.
Fun fact: Unicorn uses a mix of East and West Coast VAs, so you'll be hearing a few talents who were/are associated with 4Kids.
@ Beary: I'm pretty sure it was Sean Schemmel.
@ slim: As long as it took each episode to originally be produced, you won't be displeased by the results.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarHe should be in his mid-30s by now. Then again, he was only something like 17 in the original MSG, so he pretty much looks the same.
"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarHe sticks the landing!
Unfortunately, due to how the OVA has been cut up and expanded into a full-length series, it's going to take some time before we get to the good stuff.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStar@ Beary: Haros are fairly common throughout the franchise, but rather spare throughout UC. In-universe, however, they were supposedly very big after the One Year War, which is why more are seen in Unicorn.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarMaybe now would be a good time to ask: as someone with no knowledge of the Gundam 'verse, will I have any chance of understanding Unicorn? Because the first episode left me mildly dazed....
I'd like to be the first man on the moon.@ Maestro: Unicorn is pretty easy to follow regardless of your knowledge of the preceding UC series, but you're likely to miss (or not get the importance of) the various plot threads carried over (mainly from MSG, Zeta, and Char's Counterattack) and certain events like the Newtype "wizardry" that goes on later in the series will probably be lost on you.
@ slim: Definitely check out the OVA adaptation of The Origin if you can find it.
Also, yeah, they both died during the Fall of Axis. Amuro appears as a Force Ghost at one point during Unicorn, and Full Frontal is believed to be (the second coming of) Char, but he's not. Saying anything else would be a spoiler for the last chunk of the series.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStar@ X 2 X: Gotcha. Thanks.
Always enjoyable watching Killua intimidating somebody.
I'd like to be the first man on the moon.

@Enlong That last scene, yes. Everything else takes place about 17 years after the original series.
