Rare footage of Vegeta actually mourning someone's loss.
I'm not sure which looks more painful between that attack from Cell or 18's kick to Vegeta's arm.

Oh, don't you worry, my friend. Don't you worry.
Oh, it is, but on the other hand, it does lead to Gohan atomizing Cell with the Father-Son Kamehameha.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarKind of sad how even when mourning the loss of his son, Vegeta still describes his anger in terms of that ol' Saiyan pride.
I'd like to be the first man on the moon. You know, watching this again as an adult without the Nostalgia Filter, the Cell Saga really does pile on the bullshit.
This was my favorite arc as a kid, but rewatching all of this again as an adult, I think DBZ peaked with Freeza.
I actually do like that everything with Cell's return was pure luck, he admitted as much, and just making the best of good fortune.
Some of it is bullshit, yes, but at least it wasn't a Xanatos Roulette.

Improving as an author, one video at a time.Right. At least Cell acknowledges that this is a steaming pile of bullshit that worked handsomely in his favor.

I'd have to agree with the Cell Saga being my favorite, though all three sagas had their moments for sure.

Frieza was my favorite arc, bar none. With the exception of Vegito/Buu, no fight has ever been as awesome to me as Super Saiyan Goku humiliating Frieza.

Even the luck doesn't make sense, though. His head nucleus was destroyed by Goku's Instant Transmission Kamehameha, and he still regenerated.

That's right, boys. Mondo cool.It is pretty funny how he admit he pretty much bullshited his own survival too. Not to many villains will admit to that so give him props.
Also I haven't seen this show in a while so I forgot exactly what the fuck was up with Gohan's arm in the last leg of the fight. I can't believe it was due to trying to save Vegeta of all people.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Man, Hamon was quite the abstract power. still think that stands are better though
Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood!Wasn't the whole nucleus thing a Woolseyism and the original explanation a typical From a Single Cell deal?

This song needs more love.Even the thing about his core surviving Goku blowing away everything above his waist could be hand waved away with him just saying he can move it throughout his body and did so, before Goku hit him.
He didn't but that's an easy, if maybe somewhat cheap, explanation.
Nope, the exact opposite, in fact.
Frieza was apparently still alive even after Trunks cut him to bits. I could buy Cell inheriting that.

Warrior to the very end! My tumblr, dood! It's not Dub Text. I'm looking at the manga right now. He references the cluster of cells in his head needing to be intact.
Edit: as long as some pieces remain intact, even if they're microscopic.

That's right, boys. Mondo cool. The explanation the old Funi dub gave for Cell surviving Goku's attack was the Trope Namer for From a Single Cell, which obviously works a lot better.

Make sure your beam vaporizes him this time!
Burn the corpse and throw holy water on the remains while you're at it. For good measure.
