@ Alpha: And to be fair, Part 1 is the foundation that the rest of the series stands upon. Building up the relationship between Jonathan and Dio is integral to, well, everything. Well, maybe not everything, but a lot of events later down the road.
I hereby declare that "Koo-DEE-lee-uh" is now the correct pronunciation for Kudelia.

yeah, I agree. Some people I've seen said they're writing the show off because it "doesn't live up to the hype" but they don't understand that the first ep is supposed to set up everything.
... ALL ABOARD THE FEELS EXPRESS!

It's taken a while, but I'm pretty solidly invested in these characters now.
I'd like to be the first man on the moon.I mean, I guess I get it. From an outsider looking in, the most I knew about Jojo were the Stands and, from my understanding, the first season doesn't have those I can see why it wouldn't gel if that was what they were expecting. It's like going from the Super Saiyan battles of Z to the Comedy Martial Arts of the original Dragon Ball.
I dig it though. It hit all the type of qualities I look for in an anime.
@ Beary: Because they're generally unpleasant people?
@ Enlong: The "monsters" part is pretty apt from what we've seen so far.

"Just wants a friend but had to give up his ding dong for it, tragic." - AngelLightStarYou know, beneath the shonen action-comedy surface, Hunter X Hunter seems to be a pretty gloomy show.
I'd like to be the first man on the moon.

Enter the best character.
