Sticky, please?
New here? Or a regular poster here who is searching for forum games that are actually good? Perhaps looking for new ones that show some promise but can't find any? Then this is the place to be.
The purpose of this thread is for troper forum gamers to recommend forum games to other posters that ask (like a sub-forum library of some sort), or to recommend your latest created forum game.
When posting recommendations, it is preferable that you link the name of the forum game to its thread, along with a description of what the forum game is about.
Forum game rules still apply here.

@azerty: You can open the thread if you'd like. Just be sure to clearly state the rules and expectations in the first post.
Also, might be a good idea to refine how you expect it to play out; using a game to create new subpages is a novel idea, but it should be a collaborative process and not all on one player; there's also established styling formats for different subpages that should be adhered to as well, and you oughta include those as copy-able templates in the first post too.
If I understand it correctly, the process looks something like:
- Player A provides red link to PlayingWith or Laconic page for a trope
- Player B opts to create the page for that link
- Other players offer feedback and approval
- Player B provides a new red link, repeat
That about sum up what you're envisioning?
I suppose, by the transitive property, I too must be "Vulcan as a Motherfucker."[1]Forum game suggestion:
Describe a book/film/tv show plot badly: basically one troper describes the plot of a work without saying what the work they are describing is, providing enough details to describe what it is, but not enough to give it away completely. One troper guesses what work is being described, and then enters their own work description.
There's several: Enter the Avatar As Your Avatar -- The Spinoff!
Enter The Arena As Your Avatar V6: This Time, It's Personal
, The Avatar Arena Tournament
. After six versions of the avatar arena, I think it stipulates to just joining an organized roleplay like Enter the Avatar As Your Avatar -- The Spinoff!
. Having a battle arena in forum games always ends up as a dull, boring, and lackluster mess of continuity, ignorance, No-Sells. Expect for Get That Pizza
which automatically has Negative Continuity like a perpetual Tom and Jerry episode. Rebooting the same avatar arena forum game is redundant, I recommend just joining a long-term roleplay. However, anyone is free to reboot it. Go ahead.
Okay but... This one hasn't got new messages since past year
, This one died on December 2017
. Then, the spinoff went on a totally different way and looks like only people with a good comprehension of what's been going on since hundreds of pages still participate (there are more than 15K pages), which means that, if I even try to add posts, I will mess up things. Can we launch a 7th generation of Avatar Arena?
There's already moderators on TV Tropes. If anybody sees godmodding holler them.
Sure.

OK, this is an idea that I had with inspiration from, of all things, a Set Top Box Game from the Madagascar DVD.
One of them was titled “Matching Lemurs” where the goal was that in three levels, Mort (Level 1), Maurice (Level 2) or King Julien (Level 3) wanna dance with someone else and it’s up to the player to pick which character they dance with. However, since in the original, the hint, a tought bubble, gives away the answer, I feel like we could do something similar with our avatars, but the hint could be something like “Same series” or “a job that the person has or a quirk.”
Do you think this could work as a forum game?
So grab a stick and take a swing! Do the Piñata thing! No, as to clarify. In the original set top box game, three characters would appear on the dance floor, each one doing a different dance. The character who wants to dance, will then slide in and then look at the three as a thought bubble appears over their heads and gives you a clue of who they wanna dance with.
Here is a video of what I’m referring to:
Yeah, exactly.

So grab a stick and take a swing! Do the Piñata thing! If you liked reading those Self Demonstrating Character Pages, You can rate those in this Forum Game
I created! Which a poster lists one of those, and you can rate it from 1 to 10!
Would an NBA Street forum game work?
I’d envision that you pick three avatars from your gallery and then the next poster would select 3 from there own and they would decide which team would reach 21 points first.

So grab a stick and take a swing! Do the Piñata thing!Hey, I have another idea. We have a Liar’s Dice forum game, that I made, but could it’s spin-off Liar’s Deck work.
Here are the rules and the variant rounds:
- 20 cards are randomly shuffled and 5 cards are passed out to four players (avatars):
- 6 Aces
- 6 Kings
- 6 Queens
- 2 Jokers (more on that later)
- The table will be either a King Table, an Ace Table or a Queen Table. Someone will be selected to go first and will play either 1, 2 or 3 of their cards on the table. The next player can then choose to play cards themselves or call the prior player a liar. The played cards in the center will be revealed at that point.
- If the accuser is successful, the liar must play Russian Roulette, as the players are all provided with a pistol with 6 chambers and one Bullet. Meaning that while there is a high probability of survival, it just increases likelihood of being killed later.
- If the accuser is unsuccessful, then they must play Russian Roulette.
- This is where the Joker cards come in handy as they basically become what the table is. So if on a King Table, the Joker cards are Kings and I don’t think I need to explain the others.
- Last Player standing wins! Also, if all of the other players have successfully emptied their decks, the next player HAS to call the preceding player a Liar, even if they are not.
- This plays similarly to the Standard version, except there is one difference. One of the cards in the deck that matches the table for the round becomes a Devil Card! A player can’t play any other cards if they choose to play the Devil Card.
- If a player plays the Devil Card and then the next player calls them a liar, EVERYONE must play Russian Roulette (except for the player who played the Devil card)!
- A couple of differences here, from the prior versions. For one, 8 cards are removed from the deck, leaving behind 12.
- There will always be:
- 5 Kings
- 5 Queens
- 1 Master Card
- 1 Chaos Card
- Since each player is now given 3 cards rather than 5, they can only play one card when it’s their turn to either play a card or call liar.
- If the next player calls the player before them a liar and they are right, they can take their gun and pick someone else from the table to shoot. If they kill somebody, their gun will be reloaded with a new bullet position in the chambers.
- Both the Master and Chaos Cards have their own unique abilities.
- If the Master Card is played and the next player calls liar, the person who played the card will get to pick someone else to shoot.
- If the Chaos Card is played and the next player calls liar, EVERYONE can grab their gun and pick someone to shoot.
So… would this work?

So grab a stick and take a swing! Do the Piñata thing!

I thought they were over in the Role Playing section.
